Thanks Lucifer, I'll try that. And yes i do have an external :)
I actually have my runtime saved on it so that i can work between pc and laptop without any problems lol. It is a 500gb MyBook and i have another one that is 320. So I'm good there :D
I'd like to trade both of those for a 1t one.. its only $99 at walmart at the moment XD
Nosiferret,
i had that problem with the clothes on XP. I reinstalled and it stopped.
As for the black screen on the laptop, it does that with nothing in the scene :( as long as my mouse doesnt move over the preview/work area, its all good. but once i mouse over it.. it goes black.
I have tried reinstalling it and still the same.
Could it be that it was installed into the wrong "program files" folder... ya know vista and windows7 has 2... which i think is dumb but oh well lol

I used note pad to look at my hair... and compare to other hairs.... they are not the same...
I want to save my hair either in the 'hair' category or the 'figures' category... it doesn't really matter as long as it works and works properly.
I must be missing something...

I am just now learning a little about shaders...
Here is an image of what my shaders look like...

Any advice on the shaders would be helpful too.

hehehe yeah -blush-
Sorry.. i was kinda falling asleep when I posted that -grin-
I love how the textures came out when rendered... but that behind the ears and neck is unwanted. I also tried the "anisotropic specular" as mentioned in a post above... but I tweak and tweak and just does not look as good.
I'm going to try that Hair colours creator as suggested. But I want this to be a learning experience as well as for accomplishing my goal. I'm trying everyones suggestions and I'm hopefull that something will work out ^_^

I agree with you..... I don't like 'painting' hilights or shadows in my hair... unless its for a specific reason. I like the natural look :)
This is my first hair model... but I have created textures for hair.. and I just don't think it looks good. SOME hilights are ok... but to soley rely on that to force it to look natural defeats the purpose if there are dark or colored lights in the scene lol....
hehe :D
I added to your rant ;)
