I have spots where there are up to 10 faces on top of one another. It is causing the file size to really bloat.
Thread: texture ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
First off, you can export the Rhino creation in Poser as an Obj file. Next open the UVmapper tool and import the obj file (File/Load Model.) Then go to Edit/New UV map and select Planar. You will have some options that you will have to play with yourself to get the look you are after. You may just want to start with a Planar map aligned on the Z axis, don't split, and no gaps in the map. That way your wood texture will cover the flat surface. If you are feeling more creative you could make a Box map and get the edges mapped. Once you are finished, Save Model, and Save Texture Map. Open up a paint program and place your desired texture over the portions of the new map. Then go back to poser and import the obj file then add the new texture.

Quick grab the UVmapper tool at Steve Cox's site. http://home.pb.net/~stevecox/uvmapper.htm Convert the Rhino mesh into an obj and make a new UV map for your creation. Then save the map and obj file. You'll be all set.Thread: What's the latest word on Poser to Maya conversion? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you very much Mr. Cooper and Carolly. My people are going to continue to test till the weekend to see if we can find a solution. Hopefully there is a simple way to preserve texture maps.

Free, I'd say no, right now you have the DAZ kids models at www.daz3d.com Or if you purchase the Poser Pro Pack, they include several figures with one similar to the logo on that site. www.curiouslabs.com
Thread: is possible invert the normals on poser characters ??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
All I know is I am seeing though the normals on the outside and seeing the internal normals on the other side. What look are you trying to get?
Thread: Help with magnets... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No real problem here. For your first question set up your magnet for the object in question and then select Object then spawn morph target. When you export just have that morph target dial set at 1.0 or whatever. Export Wavefront Obj>Single Frame>(Only check the part you want to export), depending on your version of poser 4 or poser pro you well get a window in which you can select how you want to export it, All you need to have checked is the last one As a morph target. You can also save your magnets by opening your props menu, then click the + to add the selected magnet(s) as a prop.

Yes, you can do it by using the Grouping tool and Reverse Group normals (on every body part). I'm not sure what effect you are trying to go for, but you can render and animate it. Hope that helps.Thread: Searching for Paid web hosting. (Poser figures need a home) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you all very much. I'm going to sign up with one just as soon as I find out if any of my data still exists.

Hey look into trying to run te BHV through Life Forms. It really helped clean up several of the animations I created in poser, exported as BHV.

It's true, there is no ray tracer, but at least you can do a lot of neat things with PhotoShop with some post work. I'm still trying to decide if I like the work Max does or Lightwave more.
