Thread: Where is Member Listing? | Forum: Community Center
One function that the member list served was placing people in contact with each other.ย Say for instance, someone in the community stumbles upon mention of a certain item that is needed in a render, yet that item can't be found, and there are no viable alternatives.ย The member list provided a means of contact, the most recent login date to determine if a PM might be effective for that member, and more.ย Removing it only makes contact harder to achieve.

Thread: Custom INJ for Miki? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Miki is not A Daz unimesh figure, being an eFrontier product. Any INJ pose files that you see for Miki are actually mislabeled MOR pose files. Keep in mind that Miki is a Poser 6 figure, and while the figure can be made to work in earlier versions of Poser, there are definite losses in function when done. Why not just apply the morph targets manually? Has the Poser community become so dependent on pose files (MATs, INJ, MOR, etc) that we can no longer do anything manually? I can't help but laugh sadly when I see people create commercial Poser 4 stuff for her. But I won't dwell on why some people resist upgrading to the current version. That has already been beaten like a dead horse.

Second skins are a cheap (not talking money, talking class) way of accomplishing what clothes do so much better. In my opinion, the only second skins that I like are from DM and a couple of other very talented merchants. The rest fall considerably short of what good clothing items can achieve. Second skins are, at best, for diminished (background, distant) figures where detail doesn't matter. I would never use a second skin textured figure in a close up. If you want to do second skins, use Photoshop layers. You have far more control over the process, you can create your own or use third party layers, and you don't have to fork over money for a prioritized application that is locked into a monopolistic system. Don't waste your money on inferior tools.
Thread: I leave the forum | Forum: Community Center
The titlebar says Marketplace because the forum is on the market.renderosity.com server, as does every other page generated on the server. Don't get upset over picky details like that. Personally, I feel that getting people to enter CSS rules to change appearance is a very poor move. How many people here can write CSS off the top of their heads? Besides, as an html and custom server application designer, I despise CSS as a web language. It's too problematic and far from universal in the way it is presented from browser to browser. It just encourages the paper layout junkies to keep producing the garbage code instead of learning something that works universally.

A bit of linguistics....... The Texas drawl is only done properly if it is spoken with a whisper. This is what seperates the Texas drawl from the rest of the south on the other side of the creole buffer zone.
Thread: OT: Sites down | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser Pros is hosting a special theme for April Fool's. The buttons for the theme are text images, which makes it appear that the buttons have vanished.
Can anyone contact Faerie Wylde? I can't raise a peep.

That's usually the message you get when the database is offline for maintenance. All downloads from the server are unavailable. Try later. It seldom lasts more than an hour or two. This server has no bandwidth limits. One of the reasons that I use it.
Thread: Mac conversion in Poser 5 and 6 formats is not necessary | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The coming Final Cut Pro is reportedly designed to access all four processors to speed up video processing, which is 98% number crunching. Other than that, I haven't heard of anything mentioned in ADC circles that will be using them all, yet.
Thread: Mac conversion in Poser 5 and 6 formats is not necessary | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The quad will be very nice for video editing with the next version of Final Cut Pro. But Poser still only runs on a single processor. Someone needs to give e-Frontier a kick and tell them to make Poser multi-processor capable.
