Did someone say Gamma Correction? I think that both versions now include GC.

Quote - The internal name of the alternate diffuse input is "AlternateDiffuse", not "Alternate_Diffuse". The function InputByInternalName() returns None if it does not find the name, so it fails when you try to access the InNode() function.
Thanks Millighost, you are a star. I looked all over and never considered I'd got that wrong.
Many thanks

Thread: Poser Pro 2012 contents/products question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You should not have any problems with content for older versions of Poser working in Poser Pro2012. In my experience it is the other way around, if you have an older version of Poser you may have problems with content made for Poser Pro 2012/Poser 9.
The DAZ figures all work in Poser, but some products you see that are for DAZ Studio only will not work with Poser. The reality is that just about all content from Rendo/DAZ will work in Poser Pro 2012 unless Poser is not mentioned in the product requirements.
The only DAZ figure that does not work natively with Poser is Genesis, so avoid buying content that is made for Genesis, unless you are using the Genesis figure speficilly in Poser. You will know if you are as there is a Poser Genesis importer (which I cant remember the name of) that you will be using.
Hope that helps

Thread: Saving cloth room fix to conform clothing? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You can save yourself some work if when exporting the object you save it with the groups you created when making the item conforming (it's in the export options when you export the obj file).
If you are using Poser 9 or 2012 there will be anobj file in the character directory where you added the item to the library. You can simply take a copy of that file an put it somewhere safe (just in case), then rename your new obj file to the same name and put it back into the directory.
When you add the clothing to a scene it will pick up the new model and use that one instead of the old one. If the groups are still there it should work fine.
If you have an older version of Poser you will need a cr2 editor to be able to strip out the embedded geometry and replace it with your new file.
Hope that
a) makes sense
b) helps
:)

oh I forgot to mention the Simulation settings option :)
Above Cloth Self COllision are 2 options that can help in this case, when I get it I try "Object Polygon against Cloth Polygon", the default is vertex to vertex.

Seems I'm a little late :) sorry about that. The displacement trick is awesome, an excellent idea and solution.
otherwise it's a combination of mesh density, as previously mentioned and collision offset. Collision offset defines how far your mesh will get to your cloth. If the mesh is too low a density then you will need a higher figure, probably somewhere between .5 and 1, with a higher density you can go below .5.
If you are getting poke through at a collision offset at 1 then the mesh is too low.
That said :) the displacement trick is really awesome, I'd go with that :)

Thread: OT: Question on Digital versions of 3D World or 3D Artist | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I get 3DWorld and 3DArtist on my IPad and I love it :). The additional content is a bit random, but it's getting better. 3DA has now started putting embedded videos into the tutorial pages, which is awesome.

I can see it working on a ball chain or a bead necklace. Specially is the collition offset keeps the cloth bit far enough off of the figure to keep the balls sitting on the skin. Sadly soft and hard decorated groups ingore the figure and poke through the mesh.
On the plus side that speeds up the simulation as those groups only take account of the cloth mesh. Much quicker than all that figure geometry.

I've made the strip quite thin, it may need to be thicker.
