Next, I also don't like using texture filtering, thats just me though.
Finally are you setting the texture in the materials room or are you using automatic settings. If the settings are automatic they will probably be plugged into the gradient bump node (In the material room) Personally, I like to take a Hi Res texture plug it into the bump node (about six or seven lines above the gradient bump node and then set the texture strength(located to the left of the node icon)to a very low setting. I find .005 to .015 to be about the max for realistic skin textures. (I use .01 to .015 only on the lips and tongue for extreme close ups.
Give that a try and let me know.
BTW this pic was one I used to test a throat texture map I'm working on, but it also uses the settings I described above.

They look excellent! One suggestion, they also look brand new, maybe a texture that looks more used could be included with it. ;)

Awesome, can't say I know many folks from Ireland. And Porthos, I used to go by the screen name Aramis. Sound familiar. All for one and one for all! Yeeha! BTW- checked out Vue 4 Pro at the link you gave me. Looks like something I could use. Only, the price tag is a little steep. (599.00USD) OUCH! Gonna wait for the price to come down a little, but thanks for the heads up :)

Thanks for the link, I'm on my way! English is not your first language? Well then I'll be kind, yes "Do I smell smoke" can mean that a person is thinking (too) hard. Or it could just mean your kitchen is on fire. Yikes! Seriously though, (something I haven't been through this whole thread) What may I ask is your first language my friend numanoid?

Yeah kuroyume0161, I'm with you on the dualies. I'm running dual 3.06 Intels ( with 4 gig memory giggles maniacally) and I can run Poser renders and only utilize 50% of my processor capacity. (thats one processor for all you math flunkies) Real convenient. As far as animation goes, I ran a 190 frame animation and it took about 16hrs to grind through it even on this monster. But even so; like you said I could surf the web, post at forums, even DL freebies and stuff while Poser was doing it's thing. The only drawback was it tied up Poser for so long I couldn't play with any of the stuff I DLed. The moral of this story? If you got it, use it, and if you don't got it, Ahhhh, well your just gonna have to wait, so there!

Aw comeon now! Your bringin me down man. I got a sweet machine that wants to go and nobody supports my dualies or my hyperthreading :( Bummer! Well, I'll just have to go to Salt Lake City and have a talk with those folks and see if I can't persuade them to see things my way. BTW anybody willing to post bail if I don't come back?
Thread: Good news about render lock us. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try lowering the bucket size in your render options window before rendering. The default is 32. Lower it to 20 and you should be able to avoid lock ups or should I say lock us (doh!)

Good to hear things moving along. Don't rush though, just hurry up. Tell Taylor I have a whole lot of left over turkey if he wants some. If thats not good enough I'll render some up fresh for him. Just hope he doesn't have to skip Christmas with his family. L8tr

Way cool, Little Dragon Have to play around with that and see what I can come up with. Learning this stuff is half the fun. Thanks for the render, Lz

Thanks, stewer That helped a lot. I also lowered the highlight value to zero. Getting results much closer to what I want now. See ya, Lz

Hi stewer, I wasn't able to render at all in production mode unless all selections were off. So here's what I did, I opened a new file, loaded V3 added the hi res texts and tried rendering it without all the added figures and props from the original render. It worked fine in draft AND production mode. So I loaded the original file tried to render; nothing, after 2hrs gave up for the night. Wednesday PM did the same thing only this time I put the V3 w/hi res texts through the ringer. Only time I had a problem was at extremely hi resolution (1200 dpi)with a very high pixel sample(set at 10 or 12) but lowering the bucket size solved that problem. So, went back to my original scene and suddenly it decides to render. I rendered in production mode all night long without any problems using any settings I wanted in the render options. That's what I call quirky. I'm going to try reloading Poser, I had a new Motherboard installed, so maybe something got screwed up in the sys or ini files while it was being worked on. Thats about all I can think to try at this point. Anyhow, thanks for the assist, I hate problems that just go away, makes you wonder when they'll come back. Happy renders, Lz
