If you want an image texture fit an object, this object must have UV coordinates . To create the UV map for an object you can use a tool like UVmapper (free or Pro..) You can check the UVmapper forum on this board to see how things go. and.. have fun ;)

Hi :) Obviously here, the terrain has grooves so, it is logical that water shows in them. You can smooth the beach part in terrain editor using for example a diffusive effect on the brush to erode the groves near shoreline. hope this can help :) Paul

Thread: Vue 3 viewing problem HELP please! | Forum: Vue
Hi :) There is an option that can be unchecked in Files/options it is: "center views on selected objects" but it should not change the camera view so maybe there is smthg more but I cannot see what. anyway, you can try unchecking it and see if things get better ...

No being in animation much, maybe I can anyway give my idea on some points? #2 : Importing keeps the same coordinates if you UNCHECK 'resize and center' imported objects in files/options #3 : duplicate (ctrl+D) the sun ! and if is too bright , give this second sun a gray color (or darker) . If you have the additional light module, you can uncheck 'cast shadows' for this second sun : this saves a lot of render time. #7: unless your object already has multiparts Vue won't be able to break it. #8: personally I find easier to handle lights with Vue than with Poser. creating similar (or better :) )lighting schemes should not be a problem. from what I know, Poser lights cannot be imported in Vue.
Thread: Render speed | Forum: Vue
On this much debated subject, my personal opinion : Render speed does not mean much! the reason is there are so many settings : materials with complex textures, boolean evaluation/baked booleans, grouping objects, light schemes,(shadows/noshadows/shadowmaps..) plus the quality render settings, antialiasing etc... that you could render the same image with not much difference in quality with a render-time several fold longer!

Not sure I got the prob right.. anyway : 1> If you made 3 mats for a hill, and they are altitude dependent, ecosystems (related to the mats) should keep to their zone. are you sure there is not too much overlap in the smooth blending strip slider ? could also be a problem of how you constructed the mixed mat i.e : you could have made eco an already mixed underlying mat. 2> This auto-collapse mat feature is a pain :)) the trick is to copy the mat to a temporary object and RENAME it then you can do what you want with it ! hope this helps a little Paul

Thread: How do I create relistic closup of topsoil/rotting compost | Forum: Vue
My 2 cents :) The photo idea is to keep imho for very realistic result but I would use a terrain. From the photo of the soil, make a shade of grays copy, tune in in a 2d app to build a height map i.e not to much contrast and white/light shades are high levels whereas dark are low. then create a terrain the same dimension as your image resolution, use the gray copy for the geometry/altitudes, then use the color image for the texture. should give a neat result, probably not as flat as alpha plane.. Good luck :) Paul
Thread: Poser Army | Forum: Vue
From what I know you cannot input the number of instances required directly in the ecosystem; 'scaling', 'orientation', 'presence', etc... you can. (but 'presence' does not equal final number of items.) could you post a screenshot of where you type these numbers ?
