Michelle, Man hit me in the head right on. You nailed this one. #1 and #3 bleak and alone. #2 sterile. This from another guy who is/was a nurse. Nothing more to say, good work.

Misha, Im with you on the summer heat. Lets see should I go out and take images, or stay in and not move. The few times Ive posted lately, the weather had cooperated. I took a bunch of G2 digi picts at a concert last weekend. Maybe Ill post some tonight, when I get home. Im hoping that most folks are away doing interesting, fun vacation stuff, and will show back up with some good stuff to share. Anyone been up to the chat room lately?

I have to expound on this a bit. One of the first times I went to this zoo, I walked into the great ape house, and like everyone else, I stared at the Chimps, Gorillas, and Orangutans behind the glass. Then I turned around and saw a large planter box, with trees and such. I looked a little closer and found these guys. They are not behind glass or caged in, they are just hanging out in the planter. Since then Ive continually tried to get images, but people, seeing you pointing a camera at a tree, turn and start looking and pointing. Problem is these little fellows are somewhat shy, and take off with all the sudden attention. This happened again today. Im still not satisfied with the results, Ill just keep trying.

Cool, looking forward to seeing youre images.
Many years ago, and in what seems a different life, I had joined the US military with the idea of getting into Military Photography. Well that didnt work out, and I was put into another position. A few years latter I had the opportunity to try my hand at that type of imaging, and afterward I was quite happy NOT having gone into that field. I dont know were those images are, but wear ever that is, they can stay. Anyway I then sent myself, on my enlisted mans pay, to nursing school, and worked for the military as an OB/GYN Nurse for quite awhile. Now Im out, medically retired, and working doing graphics and other computer stuff, for an outfit that works closely with the military medical field.
I think that is more than I have ever said about myself. Anyway I still enjoy the idea of on the ground photojournalist style, so I rely am looking forward to youre images. Sorry to ramble.

I have to go with the flow on this one, Wacom gets my vote. My first tablet was a Aiptek, and had nothing but problems with it. Granted that was 5 or so years ago. I currently use a Intuos 12X12, and love it, though the size is a bit to big. The other is the Wacom PL 500, this is the predecessor of the Cintiq, I dont think the price is worth the advantage, and I end up using my standard tablet more often anyway. Word of warning, in my case anyway, switching from mouse to tablet takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it you most likely will wonder how you did without it.

Great shoots in I and II, as for #3, Ive had a large # of similar images. Last week, I had one of those DUH moments after shooting overexposed skies for several years. ND graduated filter. Now to find one, NDs (neutral density) + gradation, isnt something stocked by my usual pro shop. I suppose Ill special order it from them and give it a go. I like this shop, something about the Hello Mr. Salie, how are you? when I walk in the door impresses me, and this is Washington DC we are talking about. As for the other, two weeks ago I was asked not to use the Minolta D7 at a concert, this after having used it two weeks prior, at the same venue, same seat, and same type of concert without problem. So I said ok. Got one or two usable images out of 7 rolls of film with the backup point and click. They state that cameras Ok, but no Pro models. D7 pro? Ok whatever. Next week I get the Canon G2, at least it looks point and shoot.

Sorry for taken so long to get back to this. Mysnapz, Im liking the D7, The reason I got it over the others in the first place, is that it has a better optical zoom than any other consumber/pro-sumer camera. Something like 200mm. From my understanding the D5 is an equivalent camera, except for lower # of pixels. But because of the CCD being smaller, the zoom is longer than on the D7. Dont believe all the storys of heavy power consumption. Yes it dose use a lot of power, but I carry three sets of rechargeable batteres and have not run out of power yet. If you are interested in seeing some images, my web link is on the top. The Cherry Trees under Ques photos are my first attempts with the D7, and the WMZQ fest images under Judees Country Page, are also with the D7. Ill more up after this weekend. Everyone else, thanks for the help, I think I may be giving the G2 a try. QuinnThread: Any one have any ideas? | Forum: Photography
Now both of these are outdoor, and I know Ill not be able to get this kind of quality indoors, but you see what I mean by being spoiled.
