Its actually easier to instal from the content tab of Poser7... even for Mac users. Seems to instal everything fine. Ok when i want to instal different runtimes it may get a lil complicated but to be honest i have so much to learn and get used to that will be just added to my 'to master' list.
Hopefully, in no time at all, i too will be able to say "really... its pretty simple......"

Quote - really, it's pretty simple. to use the character you bought...
on a pc:
- Open the zip file
- Drag the "Runtime" folder to the folder holding the runtime with v4.
- When you get a message asking you if you want to overwrite, say yes. Windows will merge your old and new Runtimes.
- Start Poser.
- Load V4.
- Go to the Pose folder and look for the "VS-V4-CharacterCreation" folder.
- Apply the settings you want.
on a mac, it's harder because you don't have a copy/merge function. you can handle that by going into the runtime folders and copying the appropriate folders.
the other content is a bonus. it's not a waste of $11, because most characters cost at least that much. if you don't use the merchant resources to make your own textures, fine. no one's going to force you to use all of a product. you can just use it like a regular character set. but if you ever decide to add to that texture to make your own character, you'll find those psd files useful.

Ahhhh you guys are so much more advanced than me. I have sooo much catching up to do! All this talk of textures and maps and bumps have me lost. How do I apply them to just say 'lips', etc etc etc. So many questions, so few answers! JPG and PSD and PNG files I am conversant with being something of a photographer working with various graphic file formats. Poser is a whole new ball game...... I must do a course, or three!

Ahhh.. since posting here I have been delving into the intricasies of Apeture....
There is actually an "Open With External Editor" option under the Images drop down menu. Photoshop, or any external editor can be set as the default. You can then work on this file and a copy is saved as a psd. The original RAW file is left untouched. The psd file is saved with the origial in the Apeture album. Pretty seamless, pretty cool.
Yes Lightroom is here.. at last. But its version 1.00 Did I not read that Lightroom is built on someone else's technology, hence some speed issues? Anyway, I watch eith interest as the two programmes emerge....

Ahhh well.. its my own fault I should check what I'm buying. Its just the truth that Poser 7, from e-frontier, to the content makers 'assume' too much knowledge on behalf of the end user. I'm just starting out, and there must be LOTS like me who are completely dumbfoundd by the lact of user instructions... never mind....
Still.... this Creation Kit MUST be usuable?
Quote - Well it may not be a lost.
Ask for either a refund or credit from where you purchased it.
As you thought it was something you just installed into Poser and used, but found out differently…..
Most stores/merchants should understand that.

Hi there,,,, yeah i did toy with the idea of a 24" or bigger printer. But besides the room they take, i just dont have a need for such a beast. A2 is plenty big enough for my needs and roll-stock is becoming more and more readily available. I will certainly take a look at the printer forum though.. many thanks :)

Quote - hmm...I run into A4 (mainly resetting paper trays from that back to letter..;) Haven't seen A2. I'm more familiar with C/D/E size plotter, which is my idea of big..;)
There's a lot of different ways. There's a printer forum here, they're the experts on commercial printing.

Hmmmm Stormchaser... £12 is a good price. Did you ever think of getting stuff done onto canvas then stretch mounted.. looks soooooo cool but, print on print more expensive.
Quote - drkfetyshnyghts - It cost me £12, not cheap I know, but the quality is superb, so it was worth it for me.

Stormchaser... hmm well yeah i got a good deal on the Canon and they threw a few hundred quid's worth of freebies as well, so not too bad. I'm hoping printing i do for others will help off-set my own printing. The Canon prints up to 17" wide and infinitely in length off roles of canvas, many different papers etc[. Be interested to know wat you paid for your 16x20. And what sort of results you got.
quote]drkfetyshnyghts - You lucky so & so, having an A2 printer!! I bet that cost a fair amount.
I've just had my first printed work done last week, I had to send it off to be done though as my printer is only A4, this was 20" x 16".

Hey Stormchaser
yeah the renders are going to be pretty big i know. I guess i will just need to do a bit of trial and error. I have an A2 Canon printer coming this week. Although i hasten to add i havent done anything worth comitting to print that big yet.... but it s all progress i guess.
Thanks again hun :)

Quote - drkfetyshnyghts - I guess you may already know, but when it comes to print you may need to render at around 300 dpi, depending on what quality you want. Keep in mind though that your render size will probably need to increase as well.

Thread: V4 pregnant? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm convinced i have an alien version of poser7. I can select parts of V4's body, like hips, abdomen etc.. but not whole body parse..... so that pregnancy setting does not show. Is it me, or is it P7?

Hmmmmm.... trouble with the brilliance of Poser is that, you can take a charcter, a figure, a pose, you can alter it ever so slightly, caamera angle, lighting, expression and setting.... render it, and it becomes an original work of art.
Not condoning copyright theft, or cheating in any way but its fact.
