The renders given appear to show the character is "ethnic". Given that "ethnic" characters are relatively few and that "round faced" characters are even fewer... if the character was "store bought" then the character falls into a small group possible sources:
one of the Third Degree characters by Tony Puryear / Damsel1 (DAZ)
Crying Raven by LLLS (RMP)
Dakotah by Morris (DAZ)
Zavia by Daio (DAZ)
RebelMommy has put out at least 3 East Indian characters, SaintFox one, PDesign one, Phoenix1066 one.
Most of RecieCup's store is African-American...
Also Kitty's Tavern has put out a number of well rounded females.
Hope this helps.

Thread: Air Upgrade errorin PP2010 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Strange thing is I am running the same version of Air and Windows 7 64 bit and have not seen the issues so there must be another factor involved.
Where is your Poser Installed? C:Program files... or another location?
My PP is installed on E:Applications.. Mainly because of the UAC (USer Access Control) limitations of having the runtime folder in a path location that are controlled by UAC permissions...
You are certain that you are on the same version?
The only way I was able to find out the version was to downlod the version available on Adobe's web site and attempt to install it... The installerd promptly told me that I already had the current version.
AIR does not seem to have a control panel that will list the version and PP2010 does not provide the information (that I could find). Another quirk with AIR is that it attempts to auto-install upgrades at program start but the installer always fails the first time... a second start is always required to get it to properly install.
Thread: pz3 format parser | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
go visit Ockham's Poser Python Bungalow HERE -- He's got a whole bunch of things that do that kind of thing... it is also a good resource to look in Rendo's freebies for Scripts there are other's that have free scripts up on the WWW... a quick look on Google will find others...
The parser library is probably overkill (though if you already have C++ programming skills then it's no big deal...)
A script whether internal of external to Poser is better than manually doing things... for example I just spent several hours converting RDNA's V3 skin tone shader PZ2s for use with BVH's Angela 3... It would have gone a lot faster with a script but I only convert these pz2 one in a long while (the last time was for TY2 a couple of years ago).
Parsing is a good idea though... A while ago I hacked together a "expression cleaner" script to remove "face morph" settings and leave only the actual face expression but it was not a "safe" implementation. It expected to find a particular thing on a specific line of the fc2 file if it did not it trashed the resulting fc2)...
If you're not familiar with Python and Poser Python I'd suggest getting PhilC's Poser Python e-book...
Good luck!

Thread: How can you write SciFi and Detective stories? | Forum: Writers
Science Fiction is nothing more than "Fiction in Shiny Metal and Vinyl drag" yet for all of the metal and plastic it does have an objective-- to look at life, politics, philosophy and / or human experience from a different view point. Sometimes that viewpoint has a message sometimes it is "just for the fun of it"...
Some times SF is a game of "what if..."ife or history was somehow different...
Read the hard cover version of "In the Country of the Blind by Michael Flynn (I picked up my copy on e-Bay). In the hardcover of that book there is a after word which is a updated and revised version of two "speculative science" articles the author wrote for Analog magazine entitled "An Introduction to Cliology". See: http://books.google.com/books?id=2MrNykSR2WkC&pg=PA477&lpg=PA477&dq=An+Introduction+to+Cliology&source=bl&ots=Ma53rbZ7n2&sig=MxK_tir9rBAbvm-SnHF99MzO8cc&hl=en&ei=Vx0TTsqTIqX20gGWg4j-DQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=4&ved=0CC8Q6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=An%20Introduction%20to%20Cliology&f=false
Cliology is the "science" of predicting the future by extrapolating from the past (Putting Isaac Asimov's "Psycho-History" on nearly solid scientific ground... if you're not familiar with Psycho-History read "The Foundation Trilogy" by Isaac Asimov).
SF writing is not that hard... you can get word generators or star system creators... those are just facilitators of your objective-- the story. Firstly you have to have a story and characters that people want to read about.
Sometimes science fiction doesn't have to have funny sounding words or shiny metal... sometimes they take ideas one step further. for example ""Falling Through Reality"is a story about what it might be like to fall into a parallel world.
[See http://groups.google.com/group/alt.cyberpunk.chatsubo/msg/a6b7fce05c6e5241?hl=en&&q=falling+through+reality which was published in The ACC anthology 2 [commercial break: http://www.accanthology.com/buy.html ]]
Yes there is a logic and sets of rules and that is why you do your foot work / research reading.
Sometimes SF is nothing more than romance novels dressed in Shiny or rough leather clothes (The whole Liaden universe by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller and the Dragon Riders of Pern universe by Anne McCaffery are both "romance" SF)... but plot and characters hold those universe together quite well (Some of the best entertaining fiction I have read!)
Sometimes SF is a political treatise: 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, almost all of the "major novels" by Robert Heinlein, all of the "Co-Dominium" noves by Jerry Pournelle have political agendas.
Sometimes SF is a parallel mythology / history which gives the story a whole different skew on life, history, and reality (see Jaquiline Carey's massive SF/Fantasy/Historical Romance/kink-fest Kushiel series).
So you have some home work-- some background reading is a good place to start:
"The Writers Guide to Creating a Science Fiction Universe"
George Ochoa and Jeffery Osier
Writer's Digest Books 1993
http://www.amazon.com/Writers-Creating-Science-Fiction-Universe/dp/0898795362Gives a general overview of SF and how to write it.
On creating Aliens that won't get you laughed at:
"Aliens and Alien Societies (Science Fiction Writing Series)"
Stanley Schmidt
Writer's Digest Books 1995
Out of Print
The author was editor of Analog Magazine
On creating a scientifically possible world:
"World-Building (Science Fiction Writing Series) "
Stephen L. Gillett
Writer's Digest Books

written by a USGS scientist who also happenst to be an SF writer. The bookgives you everything you need to create a scientifically sound world... There are several computer applications and / or pencil and paper role-playing game books that will generate valid results...
A REAL science book that gives the facts on what kind of planet humankind can live:
"Habitable Planets for Man"
Stephen H. Dole

Try saving the ACU item to your library then load a new scene.
Load the saved item from the library.
Render and see what you have...
Like JenX suggested the vendor at DAZ is probably the best source of info (or you can try and see if they have an account here at Rendo and PM them)
good luck!
Thread: gore-dom | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
When you say you don't see the effect did you do a render and you do not see any effect? Or that you just ran the script and don't see the effect?
From what little I've played with those scripts (I bought the bundle and am using Poser Pro 2010) You will barely see any change to an unrendered item. The full effect is only seen after render. If you want to see if item has "changed" without rendering you can use the material room.
Before applying the script to an item, open the material room and select the advanced tab and note what materials and shaders are applied.
Exit the material room and run the script against the selected item.
Re-enter the material room and select the item you ran the script against.
Look in the advanced tab and see what shaders / materials were added to the item.
Other items to note with the "Hybrid Grundge" scripts:
The "Ragdomizer" script replaces the transparency node its own transparency node which may effect the transparency of of a clothing items (you'll need to do a little work to make a semi-transparent dress remain semi-transparent)
The scripts are installed as byte code compiled (pyc) scripts which makes them "uneditable" Personally I feel is advanced user unfriendly-- you cannot see and edit the original python script and therefore you cannot adjust the strength of the applied effect. What you get is what you get (There are no strength or pattern settings).
The Grime-inizer gives unintended results that looks like mud+gore.rather than just mud / dirt.

Quote - You can have external binary morph targets off but enable file compression, that should reduce the size of the saved files.
I don't use either file compression or the binary morphs... makes for big files and slow loads.. but I can open close, re-open, create new for many hours without crashes... only when I work with either compressed or binary morphs do I get crashes on opening a new file or going into the material room.
If I want to work on a file previously saved with the binary morphs I save it as a new name (so the fill is guaranteed to be written again to disk). I will then close and reopen Poser and continue... Why the close and reopen? I too have had crashes after opening an previously saved "binary format" file... My guess is that when the file loads into memory it is over writing something it shouldn't be (bad pointer reference?)... so when I open the material room or close the file and open a new one or a different one Poser melts.
Instead of a crash every 30 minutes or so, now I am getting one crash in a 3 - 4 hour session.

Quote - BTW, don't confuse the terminology of both versions of PoserPro. Officially, there is PoserPro and PoserPro 2010. No such a beast PoserPro 2008. It will only serve to confuse individuals just getting into the hobby.
You are absolutely correct!
OTOH... I don't see that it matters now since they no longer sell the version that I bought in 2008 and was calling Poser Pro 2008...
it's not any more confusing than the use of "PP" for either ProPak or Poser Pro... especially when there is sooooo much content out there with Mat pose or materials identified with PP...
The crash issues I've been seeing do not appear to be video related... they are PoserPro.exe crashes (unlike the crashes in Vista where the Nvidia.dll would come up as the culprit)...
I'll grab a screen shot of the typical crash next time it happens... it is usually a Dual crash I get two separate crash notices when it happens.
Thread: PoserPro2010 Assessment and glitch? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I do want to confirm that the crashes I've been having are in someway related to pz3 files that have been saved with "external binaries" (pmd) files. When I resave the files without the PMD files I do not experience Material room or other "random" crashes.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with a quadcore and 8 GB of RAM
Otherwise PP2010 has been better / easier to use than PP2008 or Poser 8.
Firefly x64will actually use as much RAM as you give it... So the :bucket size" setting becomes important. Look in my gallery for a few example renders.
Thread: PoserPro2010 Assessment and glitch? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Okay, I must say I thoroughly despised Poser 8 and was one of the big complainers about it. But Poser Pro 2010 has corrected a lot of the things I hated about P8. Things that are now awesome:
- Full Body Morphs. Still a bit of beeyoch to use Zbrush the way I want to...but by george, it works now and that's the greatest improvement.
- Also I can straight to zBrush export now and reimport back. Fantastic.
- Also the Firefly speed is seemingly a bit faster.
- The ability to float my panels is much better too...it makes using the workspace a lot easier.
- They've also given us the ability to change the runtime/content selection area and float it and the thumbnails are back! YAY!
All in all, I am saying this one is worth the upgrade. I am officially eating my crow from my rant on P8. SM apparently got their act together this time and listened to those of us who complained and for that I'm grateful and excited.
The only problem I've run across is a strange, and for no reason, CRASH that keeps occurring. Sometimes it's when loading a file...sometimes while it's just sitting idle. But for some reason the booger just randomly crashes.
Smith has no updaters yet and I'm wondering if they're aware of the issue yet. Anybody else having similar issue?
I've spent a bit of time this week with PoserPro 2010 (I'm on vacation, next week it's back to herding servers) ... and so far the only thing I can seem to link with crashes is when I saved a file to the "external binary" format. I changed the setting not to use the binary format and so far have not had any crashes.
It seems that when I do save files in the binary format that after several saves I have crashes occur after:
Weird thing is I can open the file in Poser Pro 2008 and go into the material room or open a new file and the same crash events do not occur... so I'd say it is probably something to do with the way the new version is handling the file or its contents.
The drawback of non-binary saves in that the file sames take 3 to 4 times longer.
Thread: Poser Python not running on Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
You could also leave the Poser path at the end of the PATH list. Windows reads the PATH as an "order of preference". If your regular python dev path preceeds the poser one the preferred dev lib will be found before the poser one. The only issue would be if a library has the same, identical name.
The setting for UAC (User Access Control) is what really decides if you have to run as administrator (unless the user is not a member of the administrator's group). If you turn off UAC the OS won't interfere with your scripts... but it also won't block malware scripts.
