Check out Renderotica. Most of the stuff is made for V3/V4, but you could probably get away with parenting instead of conforming and tweak as needed.
I know Davo has several sets over there, plus there are others.

Thread: Where to get Everyday Poses like the ones that came with James P6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In your General Preferences, make certain to choose: Use Universal Poses.
Then use the Universal Poses in the main Runtime POSE folder, which include, as markschum stated, male and female sets, which are basically P6 James' everday poses.
Then use the double check (universal pose) button to apply.
As stated already, tweak as needed.
There are also free everyday type poses available over in the DAZ forums for M4. I just don't have the link handy.

Thread: Just getting started with Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poser 8 comes with lots of goodies that previous versions didn't have.
So what else do you need?
practice, practice, practice.

Thread: Sagytarios horns? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The horns are not a separate prop or character, but alternate geometry.
I believe the morph dial is in the head. I know when I first took it out to play with, I searched and searched for a prop, too. But then found the switch in the morphs.

he looks fantastic... I thought it had been abandoned, but pleased to see otherwise.

Thread: Tutorial Scene - Poser 8 Soft Studio Lights with IDL | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been in the middle of a scene/render -- but I can't wait to try this out.
I haven't been happy with my lit props/IDL renders. So learning more as we all become accustomed to it in P8 is exciting.
I already love some of the other Poser 8 light innovations (inverse square falloff and preview), but IDL is still stumping me somewhat.

Thread: P8 Library Nightmare | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I guess that I'm the only one that hasn't had a problem with the new library. Since the thumbnail fix in SR2, nothing has been wrong with it. Running on XP Pro.

Thread: Are there tools for "correcting references" in Poser 7 ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I use Dimension3d's Poser File Organizer.
There is also his Runtime Repair, and Poser File Editor.
All sold here at renderosity.
Very powerful programs that saved more than one render for me.

Thread: My first problem with dynamic clothing.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This thread has been most valuable in getting a simulation looking decent enough to print.
Thanks to Acadia for compiling the Cloth Room Tutorials, and thanks to the mods here for stickying it.
I hate the cloth room, but I love the results. I've spent nearly a week trying to get this right using Poser 8 (which seems to bog down after one simulation). I hope to finally finish compiling the rest of the render soon now that the Cloth Room portion is finished, and I'll post it in my gallery here.

If you're using Poser 8, use IDL when rendering with the ambient technique for best effects.
Also check the Material Room sticky on this forum, since I recall bagginsbill running through the topic of fire previously.

Thread: Must have Poser adds | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Most have been mentioned, but, hey, I'll mention them again since they are ones I use also, but not in any particular order.
A clothing Convertor, such as Xdresser or Wardrobe Wizard for character fits.
Morphing Clothes by Dimension3D.
VSS and Environsphere and everything else by Bagginsbill. I wish all vendors used parmatic to help adjust they're characters skin, but that's why we have VSS.
ShaderSpider. I don't use it as much as I used to, but it always saves me time when I do use it.
Poser File Organizer by Dimension 3D to fix broken files and paths, plus it comes with a handy .rsr to .png convertor
There are a bunch of handy new python scripts inside Poser 8, which I haven't had time to fully explore. Semideu's Light Control python is handy, so is D3D's new Render control.
Renderosity's Poser Forum Material Room stickied Thread -- A MUST READ and very handy.
Ockham's Delete all morphs python is one I use regularly; just wish I didn't have to it set up in advance to use it (I have all my characters listed, but to do it for each clothing item is a PITA).
The newer Python Scripts pull down menu is fantastic.
I also like the morph brush tool. Haven't had a chance to try out it's improvements in P8 yet, though.
Well... mostly python scripts :)

Thread: What is your gallery like? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
my gallery is.... quiet. I don't do girls or women, so no one pays attention.
Mostly horor and superheroes, and boys, men.
In the coming year, I will make a concerted effort to purge my runtimes of content not yet rendered but bought (of many years ago), so look for more fantasy themed items. But again, all men and boys and monsters.
