Thread: Check your e-mail folks! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Saintfox, those renders were pretty awesome. The one of using Koji was especially expressive.

There are far more specific reasons than that. Those are the reasons I'm looking for.
I'm not saying there's something wrong with people liking those figures. I just want to understand why because to me it doesn't make any sense. But just because it doesn't make sense to me, doesn't mean there aren't good reasons to like the figures.

I wish I could understand why people like the G2 figures and the old Miki figures. Miki has a very expressive face, but bends so horribly that I find it completely unusable. Combine that with the level of content and versatility that V3/V4 has, and there's no comparison for me. I found Sydney to just be completely worthless because it bends as badly as Miki, has a terribly un-versatile set of morphs, and has zero content to use with it.
But I want to understand why people like Miki/G2 figures because maybe I'm missing something, or haven't tried something that could make me like the figures. So if people could explain it to me, that would be awesome. I never like being close minded to new ideas...
Thread: Has the quality of models for sale improved over the years? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In short I agree that the quality of products has dropped in recent years. Products have also gotten a lot more repetitive. You basically see the same outfit released by different artists again and again. This seems to always have been true in the Poser community, but a lot more so now.
I also agree that sci-fi products specifically have taken a nose dive. There were some really talented people, who at one point produced a lot of high quality stuff, that have slowed down or stopped how much they release.
There are still a few people that consistently produce good stuff, and I hope they continue to do so. I also hope people are voting down the schlock with their wallets and at the same time supporting the people who make good stuff by buying it.

Honestly, the face looks like a massive step backwards from the two renders I've seen. Miki 1+2 had natural, realistic, very expressive faces. This one looks kind of cartoony with a receding hairline and a forehead only a mother could love.

Yeah, I posted about this too in another thread. Not super excited and expecting it to be a complete failure like Miki 1+2 were.
I'd like to be wrong though...
I also find it highly annoying that instead of their own promo page they put it on twitter and facebook. I find that kind of cheap and pretty silly in a web community full of artists and web designers.
Thread: Circleman Give Us Some Details... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The point of my post wasn't whether or not the readme was accurate. It was really about selling your product.
Don't make me the consumer hunt for vital information about your product. Don't leave me the consumer left wondering what I'm getting for my money. Come out and tell me what's in your product and sell it to me. Show me what I can do with your product.  Make me think I need your product for my next project.
If I'm left wondering, then that is instantly going to make me not click the add to cart button.

**Kyhighlander59 that has absolutely nothing to do with what I was posting about whatsoever. I also would love it if this thread stayed on track and don't want this to devolve into some kind of flame war against the artist who created this product or anyone else.

I'm not sure what stability issues people have had with Poser 8. Poser 8 has been by far the absolute most stable version of Poser I have ever worked with.
As a matter of fact, the only thing I've never liked about Poser 8 is its incompatibility with fire walls. Drives me crazy that my firewalls can mess with a program that doesn't even need the internet to function. It's also been very, very difficult to make firewalls accept it for some reason and has been a source of great frustration.
Other than that though Poser 8 is probably the first version of Poser where they actually tried to pull the program out of the dark ages and they did it quite successfully.
