Thread: how to mapping a 3D object before import in Vue | Forum: Vue
Thanks for your kind words. In SU you can color code your object but make sure you color both sides of each surface and then I usually tag that color with a name like fence, window, glass..etc. In this little house each part was made separate and not grouped for easier color coding. If you have a grouped object like a window un group it then color code it. Once your object is color coded in SU then import it into vue and go to the materials summary and you will see all the different assigned colors so just start texturing the different colors with jpg textures or procedural color texturing in Vue. Hope this may assist. Best of luck. `shoop

The only one I see is called Color masking by the groom Davy. However there is color masking and color blending but I am sure you can figure that out with the steps he has listed. I did a search in the backroom this is the url. http://www.dknw23302.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/page04.htm

Congratulations and good luck. Hope there will be some little Davy's riding antelopes and tying iron soon. I remember when we first met online Davy way back when, doing wallpapers for the models. You wanted some pointers back then and what a quick study you where. In fact I think I introduce you to Vue and you caught on like the natural computer artist you are. Now you have found the woman of your dreams eh? Well that is just fantastic. And they say online romance doesn't work? LOL what do they know? :O)

Satfj you bring up a very good question and you really got me interested and perhaps to get an answer that makes sense, post this question at e-on's user forum where you have a much better chance of getting the right answer. There are many there that maybe able to fill us all in on this one instead of being confused here at RR. I look forward to finding this one out myself. Thanks for bring it up.

I have yet to set up a descent cow network but I bet Dale could help on this one when he stops by. He has an excellent set up there and a lot of experience on this subject I think. Really like that last render you did Lin! Regards, `shoop
