(I suspect I may have misremembered Battle of Britain and the uniform Ian McShane's character had.) No, I think you're probably right - I'll have to dig my copy out and look, you've got me interested now. :-) The other thing is whether Trevor Howard's character (AVM Keith Park) really did wear that gleaming white boiler suit when flying between stations!

Thread: Dual Monitors - This is so cool! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
you can grab a DVI - VGA adapter and you are good to go... And I did, and now it works superbly! It'll take a bit of getting used to, what with the mouse moving from one screen to the other, but I can see real advantages with this - particularly with C4D and Poser.

This sounds so good I'm tempted to try it, as I've got a second TFT monitor somewhere. Two questions: 1 - my card is a GeForce FX5600 - anyone know if this can do dual output (nVidia's site is useless on this)? 2 - the outputs on the back are one VGA, one S-video and one DVI connector, but both monitors are VGA input. Can you get a DVI to VGA connector or something? Thanks in advance for your help.

This one's my favourite, mainly because it was an image I always wanted to produce, it took a fair bit of effort, and I was reasonably happy with the result. Still several improvements which could be made, but there you go. (Edited to check the nudity flag)Message edited on: 07/19/2005 16:35

There are also a series of books called 'Virtual Pose #' where '#' is 1, 2, etc. They come with a large number of reference photos and a CD. Their web site is at the link.Steve

Thanks folks, glad you liked it. I'd do a fuller tut, but there isn't anything more to say really - it's so simple but gives good results. The only problem is that it doesn't work with the volumetric atmosphere model, but you can't have everything :-)

You can do this with the atmosphere using the standard atmosphere model. The attached image shows a series of renders using fog density = 0 (yes, zero) and with colour set to a light grey. The fog is set to gather at low altitudes.
The top three renders have falloff set to 95% with different altitudes - this seems to be very altitude-sensitive. The lower three have the altitude set to 25 and the falloff varying from 80% to 90% - this gives much more subtle control. Interestingly, by making the fog gather at high altitudes you can get fog clinging to the ceiling but clear on the ground - could be useful for smoke in a fire!

There are lots of colour wheels and so on available on the net, but the best I have found is Color Wheel Pro, which you can find at the link. This lets you develop colour schemes using analogous, complementary, etc. colours and apply them to mock-up web sites and other graphics to see what it would look like. Worth a look.Steve
