<-- Grasping at straws... Didja download & install the Service Release?
(removing the back facing polys just tells poser not to render any polys who are not facing the camera. This means if you have a mirror Behind Andy, his back side would not show up in the mirror. Because I have NO patience, I have that turned off in Preview. This would have no effect on shadows showing up)

Thread: No Shadows and pose dots don't work - Poser 11 | Forum: New Poser Users Help
AO is Ambient Occlusion. it makes shadows look more real and increases render time! it's generally not wanted on the scene preview. Ok.. I opened P11 with Andy Front and Center and confirmed my Preview render settings are the same as yours.... When I grab a light and swing it around the scene, the shadow for that light moves. I have 3 or 4 shadows in the scene, all displaying on the ground plane. Here's a screen shot of my settings.... and part of Andy's shadows...
While I'm sending screen shots... this option is checked for the lights, right??
I'm mystified!!

No, the dots only work if you populate them... if you want them to restore to the original pose, you have to save that. I personally use Control Z and undo what ever mistake I've just made. Do you have shadows turned on in the Preview render? They're off by default, I think. You'll find the manual settings more useful than the sliders, I think.

Is the Shadow actually turned on in the light Property?
I really fail at using the pose Dots.... but there are 3 different sets of them, all stacked together.
The Default is UI dots... if you saved there, then the UI Configuration got saved, not your pose....
the choices are UI, Pose & Camera.
Best of luck!!

Thread: Making Morphs and Textures | Forum: DAZ|Studio
The next thing you need to do is learn to use DAZ Stuido. If you want to make content for the program, you need to know how it's used. Learn to dress & pose characters, How to render them, where to find the content in the Library. Learn where DS Soars and where it Stumbles!! Go to the Galleries and see how other folks use it! What kind of movement morphs do you normally see? If the boots have laces, or the bows have tails, can they move in reasonable ways? or are they stuck in the default position, causing the render to look, minimally, odd? I know you can't tell from the final render if the artist chose not to use the morph or if it wasn't available, but you can see the effect of it's absence! This will also tell you which figures are in use so you can determine which character to target with your creations! DS is a piece of cake compared to Zbrush! Knowing HOW to use the program will make you a better modeler! Good luck!

Thread: Figure symmetry | Forum: New Poser Users Help
HI ya! Are you using the Poser Horse or one of the Mill horses??
If so, selecting the horse and choosing Figure > zero figure SHOULD put the horse into a position where every joint is at zero, zero, zero. This burries his feet in the ground, but Control D (drop to floor) fixes that.
If this is a horse you've made, then you'll have to manually select every body part and set the x, y & z rotations to Zero. Well half of them.. you can use the left/right symmetry to cut your work load!
If the horse was modeled with his head bent then that position WOULD be the 000 setting, and you'll have to fiddle with the rotations on the various body parts until he is straight.
Once he is straight, the next thing to do is Edit > Memorize > Figure and save all your work to the character part of the Library! Once that's done, you can re-load him as a straight & symmetrical horse!
When I exported and imported from Poser Pro 11, taking the defaults on both export and import gave me my morphed and posed figure on import.
Good luck!

Can you email the vendor and ask? or ask in a DAZ Studio forum?
I don't know how to install DS lights in Poser..... Poser won't be able to read the *.duf file.
I'm sorry I don't know the answer.

Thread: Exporting from DAZ to Poser | Forum: New Poser Users Help
So.... Looking for the "WHERE" in the error....
do you still have 2014 installed? Can it handle the exported obj? if so, it's Poser11 flakiness.
If not, it would seem to be a DS export issue....

Thread: Exporting from DAZ to Poser | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Hello.
I can't tell what you're doing!
Do you have DSON installed to Poser 11? Is it working?
Are you exporting from DS 4.8?
Please clarify!

Thread: Content install problems | Forum: Poser Technical
Please create an empty text file named Poser.exe in the root of your Poser install (or a standalone runtime). This should satisfy the M4 base installer. (SM changed the name of the executable.)
Mike & Vikki 3 use RSR files, rather than PNG files for their icons. Poser stopped supporting RSRs a while back... This free utility might help http://rsr-converter.software.informer.com/ Good luck!
