Quote - The british 'Office' is fantastic as well.
Although I'm a Brit, I quite like the American version as well, probably because the format allows for it rather than just trying to remake the original.
Don't know if this has been seen in the US or even been made yet, but Ricky Gervais is set to reprise his role as David Brent in an episode of the US version of The Office (unless his presenting gig at the Golden Globes scared the networks!) ;) .
Which leads to another thing, the press here seem to think that the US or at least the tv networks don't seem to understand British humour, especially after the GG. As most of you here seem to "get" British homour, do you think he went too far in his roasting of the actors there? I didn't get to see all of it but would be interested in what you thought.

Thread: Face Morphs from photos for Daz figures in poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm no good at face morphs but you could try googling DAG foreground Utility.
It is still free as far as I know. It opens a new window that you can set the transparency of and import a picture to. You have it open over the poser window, but it stays ontop and allows you to use and click things on the windows below.
If you did what you suggested (which is how I used to try it), you need to have the figure view set to one of the wire frame type displays. With the foreground utility you dont.

Will try this one out. In the past I've had problems with the obj geometries.

Thread: OT: How many of you use Sketchup now? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Would be great to have a sketchup forum. I have used it in the past with varying success to create buildings etc for Poser images. If more people here were aware of it and there was more demand for easier sketchup to poser exporting, then possibly someone could attempt to write a more compatible exporter.
Even I can use sketchup, and this comes from someone who cannot figure out Daz Studio, Wings, and still has difficulty in programs like anim8tor!

Both contain a link to the zip file with the script in. Will have to see how well it works when I have more time.

Thread: Gallery etiquette, vendor credits and keywords? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I find them useful, if I want to know what a particular item the artist has used. It saves people posting "please identify this" messages in the forum or leaving a comment in the gallery in the hope that the artist will read it. I don't think it really counts being polite or inpolite to do or not to do it, after all if my mum bakes a cake, she doesn't list the manufacturers of the ingredients. :)
Although I must admit that I very rarely do it, unless I've used a free item that requires you to give credit.
I can understand why an artist maybe wouldn't want to add credits, as if they have spent ages on something and maybe developed their own style, they don't always like people to know how they did it (like a magician) incase everyone tries to copy them.

Thread: OT: Is online banking safe??? I kind of wanted to | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Use my credit card, which is supposed to offer some protection to buy things, however I would consider online banking a whole different thing. My sister had money taken from her account before Christmas. That bank realised what had happened, and she will get the money back, but the bank had to freeze the account, cancel the card and sent a new one out. This meant that for a week or so before Christmas, she wasn't able to use her card or account. Not that great when you want to do your Christmas shopping or buy food. Also means that she has to get in contact with anyone that she pays via direct debit.
In my opinion, credit card purchaces on secure site, ok, but still be cautious.
Online banking, no way would I even try it.

Thread: OT : For Dalek fans | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The new Doctor Who magazine says that the new ones were just like an officer class. Supposedly one of the reasons for the new design was an excuse to make more Daleks. There were only two of the RTD ones in good nick. The others were probably destroyed at the end of season four. Now, at least the Moff has a valid argument to use licence payers money to create more RTD style ones.
I also liked the new ones. You need variation. As much as I liked the RTD ones they were a bit over used, and became less scary, as we had seen the Doctor defeat them on many occasions. Plus it was RTD that had stated that his Daleks were not pure Daleks. You can't blame the Moff for that, the story has to move on from The Time War etc.

Thread: Clothes and hair simulator development | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - If you watch "This" video of his, it appears to be a Poser Python Plugin.
I also have the dynachest product. I only mentioned it because I wondered if he used the same sort of script to work with non dynamic hair to make it move like it was dynamic.
The animations in the clips were done using Daz's aniblocks, which suggests that it was done in Daz Studio and not Poser (unless he exported them from studio as animated poses for Poser).

Thread: Clothes and hair simulator development | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Wow. Impressive! As cage asked, when its written "hair based on", I understand the prop cannot be directly used (which actually makes sense) ?
It must use part of the original hair prop in some way. If it was an entirely new prop or dynamic hair just made to look similar to the other ones there wouldn't be any need to say that it was based on others.
The idea of using existing hair props or characters as the basis for dynamic looking hair is appealing to me, as there is a much bigger variety than there is of good dynamic hair.
I'm wondering if this uses a similar type of prop and script dynamics as his dynachest product.

Thread: OT: If DAZ users have Reality and Poser Users will have Something too for Lux | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Depends how each exporter handles different element. Also there will always be users who prefer the controls etc of one over the other. There are things that Poser does better than Daz Studio and (ready to wash my mouth out with soap) vice versa. As the programs develop and people create new add-ons there will still be differences. I mean not all artwork created in Poser looks the same, it depends on what the person uses and how they use it.
Why do the programs have to be the same for everyone to get on?
I once met someone who used Daz Studio who I got on with. Wonder whatever happened to whats-his-name? ;-)

After seeing the picture above with the yellow, blue and red may I suggest "Star Truck" or "Classic Star Truck" ;)
Or "The Barricade Obliterator" because of all the stop and police line notices adorning the front.

Like Cyberwoman I also thought along the lines of the A-Team at first with "I love it when a van comes together" (but it's a truck).
