Yeah I got it, it's just what I'm looking for. Unfortunately I had to purchase the suit to get it, but that's fine since I had free voucher money (thanks to the Michael and Victoria freebies this year!), and I'm sure I'll find a use for the suit in the future.

It's not the background file because I tried removing it, and just tried rendering Michael, but the same problem occured. I also tried rendering without bump maps, and still no success. This is very odd...

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

First off, I think some of you may have misunderstood me. The shot I'm looking for actually has the character in the frame (right up close to the camera). If you've ever seen the movies Requiem for a Dream or Pi (it was also used in the MTV show called Fear or something like that), basically imagine a camera rig that attaches to the actor's body, and the camera is aimed at the actor's face. It gives a very interesting effect where it almost seems as though the actor isn't moving, but rather the background is... kinda hard to explain, but anyway.

With that in mind, I couldn't just hide parts of the actor because unless the full figure is hidden, Poser still calculates the figure, and therefore it still takes forever to render.

But, I found a way around it, and stupid me couldn't figure it out earlier. Instead of attaching the camera to the character's chest, I attached it to his shirt's chest. This gave me identical results, but allowed me to hide the figure, then I could just make the shirt invisible (since the character is what made the rendering time so long in the first place).

And that's that. Problem solved. Thanks for the all replies though, I really appreciate them!

Pdxjims: It's for Michael V3. From what I've gathered so far, it hasn't really been done before, and might seem pretty tough to accomplish. I may just have to throw a mask on Michael, make it translucent, and keep him from moving his jaw. But anyway, thanks for the replies. Tilandra: Sorry but I really haven't done much modelling, so that post is like reading Japanese to me :-) But thanks anyway, it SOUNDS convincing at least!

Leather-Guy: That's exactly what I plan on doing to it. Ever hear of the video game series called Silent Hill? I'm making a short film, completely CG, based off the premise of SH, so a hospital is very important... I just need it to be old and decrepit, followed by nightmarish and disturbing.

Cool, thanks for the replies! Yeah I also found the lantern (ie flashlight) at Renderosity by accident, but I remember searching for flashlight and it wouldn't come up. But it's great, and yeah it does come with a light that I needed to tweak to my tastes a bit, but everything else on it is great.

Martian, yeah I'm interested. Could you maybe post a pic of it so I can see if that's what I'm looking for? As long as I can use it in Poser, I can just try to texture it myself. Thanks. If anyone can still help me with the flashlight model, please keep the replies commin' in. The more I get to choose from, the better! To Rance: I saw the Lightwave flashlight, but I don't think Poser imports Lightwave objects (or does it?). Is there any way to get it into Poser, and if so, how can I break it apart to texture different parts of the model?

PROBLEM SOLVED! Wow, it was odd, but here's the deal: DON'T PUT EXCLAIMATION POINTS IN FRONT OF YOUR FOLDERS! That's right, the problem was with a simple punctuation character that Poser had a problem with. By deleting the "!" in front of every folder, the problem got solved. But thanks for replying anyway.

Hmmm... I'm thinking I may have some sort of weird bug or installation problem then. I installed to the folder where it belongs, so when I go to the Poses folder, there are a bunch of folders such as !M3 Features, !M3 Expressions INJ, etc. Yeah, it seems good so far... HOWEVER, when I bring up Poser, I click on Poses, but the Michael categories are all messed up. Every single category contains exactly the same list, which shows: ! All Head Morphs, ! M3 Natural Hi P4, etc; and there's no scroll bar or anything, it almost seems like a bug. Upon clicking on any of those, I receive the error: WARNING: CANNOT OPEN RUNTIMELIBRARIESPOSE (insert pose here). I've tried reinstalling it, but it always shows up like this. Is this a problem, and if so, anyone know how to fix it?
