--- splutter Did you say.... "knock off"? --- Took the words right outta my mouth o_O Well, I'm a newbie Poser user, but here's my haves and whys anyway: Poser 3 - cuz I'm still saving up for 5 Bryce 5 - it rocks, that's why! And it's not expensive, though I got mine with vouchers from submitting tutorials to DAZ heh The GIMP - (gimp.org) Free 2D graphics program that's every bit as good as PhotoShop! Great for postwork and texture making. UVMapper (free version) - Obvious. I want to get the pro version though. I'm wanting to try Tattoo as well but it doesn't work on my computer. Wings3D - (wings3d.com) A great polygon modeler, and it's free! I use it for making props and figures, but it obviously is great for clothes too. PHI Builder - Poser hierarchy editor. Since newer versions of Poser have hierarchy editors built in, this may not be that useful to you. But it's still a great little program for tweaking hierarchy stuff. I think it's in Freestuff somewhere. As for models and props, there's a lot of great things here, both for sale and free (Furrette comes to mind. anxiously awaiting Furrette 2.0) And of course DAZ. I'm quite fond of my MilDragon ^_^

Takes notes I'm thinking I may not be able to make good human eyes, since they have to be realistic. The eyes I tested on the MilDragon looked fairly good, even without highlights. The default MilDrag eyes have no highlight. Thanks a ton for the test renders and advice, it's very much appreciated! :)

I'm planning on putting some in Freestuff first, they're obviously not ready for the marketplace yet ;)

Thanks, I wanted brutally honest ;) I was planning on working on these quite a bit more before charging money for them, and making mat files (once I figure out how to do that ;) )

Thanks! They still need work obviously, there's no highlight. I expected Poser to handle specular highlights the way Bryce does, but apparently it only reacts to mapping =/ Oh well, I needed to learn how to add highlighting to maps anyway. I still don't like the flat irises that Poser figures use though. My iris maps look a lot better on the eye models I made myself. Feh.

Thread: Quick question about trans mapping | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Garee: Hehe not quite, I do have Poser 3 and Daz Studio, but P3 doesn't do trans maps. DS must do them but I have yet to figure out where the commands are. ;) I totally forgot about DS though, it's so clumsy and cumbersome that I never use it. Thanks, I'll try that. Besides, what I'm making is eyeballs, they're not that Poser exclusive ;) I just want them to map correctly in as many apps as possible. Dr. Geep: So, a clear object should be black on a trans map? I don't know for sure because the only trans map I have on hand is from a free MilDragon texture. It's for the wings, so it's gray, and I wasn't sure which extreme was which ;)
Thread: "Woodsy" Dining set WIP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I started I wasn't sure which way it would go, but now I'm hoping it will be good enough for the Marketplace. If you feel this belongs elsewhere, then by all means move it. I'm still a bit new here and not always sure where my topics should go ;)

I think I know what you're talking about...A stick with bells and goofy tassle things on it? I might be able to model one for you (for free) if you can describe it in more detail, or provide a pic. :) I've seen as many different versions as jokers/jesters, so I'd need a little more detail.
