Bsteph I tried one or two but didn't like them... too cumbersome to use. One was Carrea, I like Carrea for other things but not 2d to 3d stuff. Besides, Bryce is great because you can import any photo as a texture map to create a 3d model. Then you can use the color photo to texture it and make it realistic looking.

The blank space in #1 doesn't bother me. Maybe it's just me but the little girl seems to be looking at something in that direction... which gives me the feeling there is something there, just out of sight... It takes the whole scene out of the borders of the photo... makes it feel larger than it is... Just like the guy on stage is looking in the other direction gives the feeling of a "Bigger Picture" (No pun intended) I work in video production and there is a camera technique which gives the same feeling... Ever notice when there is a "One shot" ...one person in the frame... the compo is mostly to one side... If the person is looking right, you would frame them to the left of the compo... it gives the feeling there is someone there out of frame that the person is talking to (even if no one is there) Ok... I'm babbling! Anyway, I like the shot!

There is a lot to consider when shooting low light. 1) Tripod... this is a must unless you want light trails. 2) Consider the film speed... If you use a faster speed the exposure will be shorter but you will get a grainy shot. 3) Any zoom you use will add to the exposure time and also run the risk of a shakey shot. 4) try to use a plunger, even with a tripod when you push the shutter you run the risk of shaking the camera. Especially if you shoot in "Bulb" mode and time it, (depending on the type of camera you have) you have to either push the shutter to activate and again to release... or on other cameras you have to hold the bulbwhich can shake the camera. 5) try not to get too close to the lights... use a wide shot. If you are too close with a long exposure you will get burnt colors from the lights before you get light from surrounding area... (make sense or am I confusing you?) Anyway, here is a link to a shot I took in Trinidad from a balcony. There are a couple more in my gallery but with this shot I used: Nikon F-65 Tripod Bulb setting-timed at 40 sec. Fuji 35mm film (all I could find there) 200 asa 3.5 aperture. Mostly it is guess work. Decide what film you want to use then go from there, just open your lens aperture as wide as you can then take a few shots... for example: one at 30 sec, one at 35, one at 40... just like bracketing. The more you use your camera at night the easier it gets... Hope this helpsEven if you choose not to choose, you still have made a choice

NICE! It seems my whole gallery except for 15 images was deleted. Thats around 120 images I need to find and re-up! This will be fun since most of my images are numbered... I don't name them till I upload!

Donald, The shot is really a lot sharper than it looks here. I used scala so the series is on slides. Somewhere in the scan or JPEG compression process I lost a lot of resolution. I just had a show and used a projector and rear screen to show the series. The projections were 7' x 5' on the screen and they looked amazing.... so people said. ...and if you like texture you will love the next few I will be posting. Some of the other scans are much better. thank you for your comments! And critiques are always welcome

I'm running a matrox card with dual monitors and a breakout box to a TV... each has a slightly lighter contrast. The image looks great on all three. No blotches here.
