Quote - Well, since I've never used Alyson before in my life....does she HAVE boob morphs? Perhaps if she doesn't that's why BH is showcasing them ;). And if she does, are they as horrible as the rest of her default self and those tootsie roll toes? LOL
I keep staring at the promos trying to see some vestige of Alyson and I can't see it...lol.
Anyway...wasn't this a Vicky thread? Alyson already has her own thread...hehe.

I may be misreading intent but I think it was brought up as a "why is v5 so important?" kind of point... and its a reasonably good one at that. The shape is very much along the lines of the supersexy v4 shapes. It definitly has the makings to become popular and well supported... which is primarily what daz figures have going for them. I dunno.. just spitballing

In truth I'm more likely to use Antonia's default face than I was ever likely to use v4s. I have not oncedone a render I considered 'complete' with v4s default face. Antonia I have done several. She has her own look, but its definitly usable. What I'd really like to see is a more in depth expression system (or pose pack.. I'm ok with being lazy :P )
Quote - True, Antonia's default face is a bit... distinctive, but she seems to scrub up pretty well, in the right hands. I've seen renders where judicious hair-style and makeup makes her look quite pretty! (paging Amethyst: skilled artist that you are! )

TBH I think the promo material focuses too much on the boobs.. but I do really like the sculping of the abdomen and back. I'm also interested in seeing how the JCM muscle flexing looks. I wont be able to purchase for a bit atm so I might have to wait and see what renders come out of it, and what kind of support she gets
Quote - She's very beautiful, Esther, but she needs a rifle...

Freckles?!... Interest peaked!
I love freckles.. I'll have to add this to my want list!

this is a pose i made (character+texture also by me), though this is the standard version and not the weight-mapped. looks really nice - look at the shoulders and the thighs - no awekwardness or anything. if you go to the product page of this character at RDNA, you'll see some more poses i made (don't want to flood this thread with promotional links..)
i'm working on more poses for her, hopefully i'll have time and can finish it quickly enough. i still need to further explore the differences between the standard bersion and the WM though. :)
She is beautiful! I love the freckles.
She's on my wish list until the holidays are over.
Thread: GC question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
So does this apply to the alt specular and alt diffuse channels that dont have values attached to them?
Quote - diffuse + specular + reflection + refraction <=1.
diffuse=.8 is o.k. if everything else is zero IMVHO, but one should note that the diffuse channel is not used in some new shaders.
Thread: GC question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks,
I've noticed that about the diffuse not being used as much. I'm in the process of converting a bunch of my old v4 and v3 stuff for use with Antonia~WM. A lot of those shaders would have been built before we had GC to play with. I was wondering if it was just nostalgia that had me thinking they used to look a lot better than they do now.. quite likely the GC is a bigger part of that than I had thought

Thread: GC question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry.. this may have been asked and answered many times already as GC isn't new anymore.. but how do I fix an earlier shader? Diffuse no higher than .8, I thought I read reflection shouldn't be higher than .4.. anything else? I'm not really skilled enough to re-build the entire shader trees myself. Is there a guide(s) that helps figure out appropriate set ups for different types of clothing materials in the GC/IDL/Scatter era?
Quote - Built in GC is one of the main benefits of Poser Pro. So for a render with realism in mind, I would say yes. If you want a certain style, then it depends. The only time that GC will really be a negitive is if you've loaded a character with a shader developed before GC (I'll call those pre-GC shaders from now on) and you haven't corrected the shader out of laziness. Or you like the overall looks of the old shader for some reason and everything else is GCed so then you'd have to tweak the old shader for anti-GC.

If you have Antonia Advanced Morphs (and I HIGHLY recomend them) its a great idea to pick up morphing cloths as well, so far its done a fantastc job of adding the advanced morphs to everything I have tried.. And I am playing a LOT!! (Despite the fact that there is a project that I am supposed to be working on)
Does Morphing Clothes work with the WM version?
It works great!! The only thing that is hanging me up at all is transfering some of the clothing movement morphs, like open shirt. It gets the shape right but stretches the polygons across the opening.

Quote - UPDATE:
Well, followed instructions...
decided to go to setup room,
select figure,
copy figure groups,
rename figure,
save figure,
close program, select figure and clothing item and.
VOILA! (like the Progressive Ad) They Fit!!!
It's a refreshing thing from doing Auto Group, or using maskd's Auto Group Editor -- a big difference.
It's my work in progress bra/bustier I call My Busty!
Thanks Glitterati3D and many others. It takes the guess work in conforming clothing. I've yet to learn from the new weight map features, as to why I got PP2012.
I appreciate it.

Are you doing re-fits of other figure clothing? or Antonia standard to Antonia WM.
I've found all my fittings to be a breeze. Once the shape is right.. and it is already if you are using antonia standard... just load your OBJ as a prop, open the setup room and load antonia WM, if you are already using antonia grouped stuff you are good to go, If not then tell it to re-group when it asks. Smooth as silk for me, and I'm not very experienced with things like the set up room
Quote - Anyone having luck in fitting clothing on Antonia weight mapped. I followed tut with Phantom3d in 3/4 mark and had problems along the way, by selecting the figure, with missing limb. Pardon my ignorance.

Question on Using VSS...
It not a problem for my renders, but makes my node set up look junky as heck...
When I use VSS to deliver a change to my shaders it seems to keep adding extra image map nodes on top of whatever is currently in the material room and disconnects the old ones but leaves them in. Is that just how it works? Or am I doing something wrong?
I'm not using the vss shaders themselves just building my own on the vss prop and using vss to deliver them to my figure
Quote - The VSS is the tool. It's used to apply a shader to several materials and figures at once.
Incidentaly, it comes with a skin shader.
Yes, it still makes skin better in PP2012 - IF you're not using Scatter for your skin.
If you are, by all means don't mix it with the skin shader that comes with VSS, or replace it. Scatter can look much better. You can, however, make a new VSS prop with a skin shader that uses Scatter, like the ones in the link above, so that you can easily apply that shader to any of your previous characters easily using the power of the VSS tool.

Very nice character!
I love how much quality we are seeing on Antonia's Page at RDNA

Brynne is fantastic.
Thank you! She was a labor of love. :)

Antonia~WM wearing AerySoul(AlfaseeD) Xenon for v4.
Conversion was mostly pretty easy, some parts were tougher (gloves had to be fitted manually, but the setup room rigged them easily) Shoes were easy enough to convert but you have to watch how you pose as some parts that arent meant to stretch do (as you can possibly see in the pic).
I used D3Ds Morphing clothes to transfer Antonia Advanced Morphs to the refit and the clothes follow everything but the most extreme dials without pokethrough.
Character is dialed using Afrodite Ohki's Advanced morphs. Lighting is BB p8 soft studio lighting (tweaked down a notch or two). Floor is a simple procedural shader Using SSS. Texture is RobynsVale's SSS shaders from the Antonia package (And I didn't even tweak 'em this time :P)
Thread: Regarding the DAZ vs. The World topic.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - I betcha lots of folks who are Prime members here are also Platinum Club members there. Daz sells lots of good stuff for Poser. Rendo vendors are starting to sell products compatible with Genesis. A lot of us Poser users shop at both markets. It would be a poorer 3D world if either marketplace were to go away. I'm still mourning Aery Soul.
You realise they arent 'gone' right? And still making amazing stuff, most for poser still but some for genesis, they even mentioned an Alice for genesis but I dont know if its been released at all. Alice 5 is free for v4 though (just the body not the head)
