Travis, He is interesting AS IS. Too much finishing detail might destroy some of the eeriness? Carolly
Thread: Treasure chest... My 1st posable prop | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Cybermonk, Your email with The Chest attached got to me safely, but when I sent a thank you reply, it bounced back to me. Lannie wrote you asking for the chest, too, but that came to my mail box instead. The email system seems to have a fit of hiccups? Anyway, thank you! Carolly

Chambered cairns? I'd like to visit Maes Howe, Avebury, The Isle of Lewis, Rosaringe... and peek at the submerged rings (I'm blanking on their names, 2 of them in a bay on the north coast of France which inspired Debussy's Engulfed Cathedral). Everybody else can fight the crowds in the museums, when I travel to Europe it will be with a nice sturdy pair of walking shoes and a camera! Restless natives? Making those running shoes. Carolly

Move over Ming the Mercilous! The universe is about to be CONQUERED!!! (Anybody who doesn't fall at her feet in awe has motor oil for blood.) BTW, where did you get the hair? It is almost Empire style. Thanks for all! Carolly

We will cross our fingers, hoping. That is a monumental (pun intended) piece of work, and you seem to have a waiting list of anticipatory artists. I'm familiar with NewGrange, and several other sites, but only from photographs. Someday I'll get to travel. Chrisjol, if you send me a snail mail address, I'll try to send you a couple of art prints in return for this. hauksdottir@earthlink.net Thanks, Carolly
Thread: Hair Like Never Before - A New Generation In Poser Hair! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Mehndi, My Great Aunt wore her hair braided over her head, too. :) I've seen pictures of turn-of-the century women with floor-length hair, but no one in my family has managed to grow it that long... yet. I mostly wear my braids down, and very occasionally let the hair loose!), but being able to put it up and have it look decent is a major plus with braids. Elegance? A crown of natural healthy hair is better than diamonds. Carolly
Thread: A fast question about skin tones... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I up the ambiant slightly for skin to get rid of the ugly black shadows. Unless you are rendering against a black background for shooter games or outer space scenes, you really don't want shadowed areas (like under the jaw) to be pitch black. Real life has too much bounced light. Carolly
Thread: One of my first renderings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Pretty, pretty! You might want to add a bit of wake trailing the dolphins, but otherwise it is a nice scene. Anybody who can use purple, orange, and black to make a peaceful image is going to be worth watching. :) Carolly

It has a rather porcelain-eggshell look... definately not living skin. It will be interesting to see what is done with this one. Carolly

I found a pen and clipboard in 3ds format last year... I think it was at the Props Guild or 3dCafe. There may have been another one at Greylight's site? Maclean (I think) did harry-potter styled glasses, but called them something else. Search for "glasses" at 3dCommune and here and you should come up with 3-4 pairs. Someone (Phil?) did a naughty&nice figure with the one as a secretary... but she wasn't mousy. I'm migrained out so my mental links are broken... but the stuff you are looking for exists. Carolly
Thread: Sun Bonnets-Gardening hats for posette? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think it was Maclean in the 3dCommune who made a bunch of hats and posted them to free stuff there. I don't recall a sunbonnet (like the pioneer/Victorian hat), but there were brimmed hats which could be adapted for garden use. The Costume Shop CD from DAZ has a widebrimmed hat which would be suitable, too. Carolly
Thread: Realistic fat lady for Posette -- need your feedback | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Duane, I think there should be a bit more fat on the abdomen below the belly button and on the thighs (if the calves are that heavy, the thighs would be more so). I agree that heavy people often have a surprising amount of muscle, but with little surface definition. People who gained their weight early usually also walk/stand with a wider stance to maintain balance. Also, the fat pad on the inside of the knee could be a little lower. All-in-all an impressive job, though. You managed to make her interesting and attractive in spite of the bulk... and that is no easy task. Carolly

Thread: My up, down, in and out arrows don't work, anymore | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Poppi, I really wish the default settings were no IK. They result in so many weird problems that I automatically uncheck them... and it is the first thing I look for when sh!t happens onscreen. Carolly
