Cybermonk, My email is hauksdottir@earthlink.net and I thank you very much. The mermaids thank you, too. :) Carolly

I hope so! I did a pen and ink illo several years ago with "cup & ring" symbols, among others, all over the standing stones. It will be fun recreating it in 3D. :) Carolly

Thanks Mehndi, that does answer my questions. It will be possible for our ladies to look "elegant" as well as "fun" with this hairpiece. The central images are indeed what I'm looking for. A coronet braid, BTW, wraps completely around the head at an angle (so it doesn't quite fit like a crown on top), but it looks like there is enough length and flexibility to the braid to do this. :) Carolly

If I wanted to make skin look wet, I'd use the "plastic wrap" filter in PhotoShop as postwork. (This is one of my favorite filters, but should be used in moderation!!!) I'm not sure how one would do it before rendering, though. Carolly

Nice texture. I can see mermaids clustered around, wondering which of them was going to pull the Pandora act. I hope that you can find a host, since that seems to be the main problem these days. BTW, I would like this, too. :) Thanks, carolly

Wow! Interesting!! Even a hole stone for wiggling through or making oaths. Ditch and dike and avenue and outlying stone and everything. I like. Nice textures, too. ... and I certainly hope that you find a place to host it. Carolly

The price I'm willing to pay also depends upon how flexible it is in overall appearance... if it is just a long braid with a variation in the fluff around the face, it can't be used on different characters within a scene... or for different periods than contemporary. Can a person wrap it in a coronet braid around the head? Spanish bun under a comb and mantilla? Chignon? Can all that fluff be sleeked back neatly? (Messy may be popular, but it dates a character as much as does a "50s page boy" style.) I'm so glad to have alternatives to plastic, and your braid itself is starting to look more like braided hair (mine are below the waist, so I'm rather familiar with braids ). So these comments are meant to encourage you. Carolly

Sorry to hear that Julio, You have some wonderful, and much needed, male textures... so I hope that you find a new home. Carolly

If the people at DAZ can model nipples, they can certainly at least give the female models the suggestion of labia! I am a woman artist, I don't do porn, but I do think our bodies are pretty neat... and nothing to be ashamed of. A non-descript blank wedge is an insult. (It is the equivalent of a plain brown wrapper.) The guys in Utah may be embarassed; I'm not. Nipples can be faked with a texture map, but they built the geometry for nipples. The argument saying "why build it if it can be textured" won't hold up. Carolly

Well, the extra arms ought to connect at the shoulders, not the floating ribs. I think you have to spawn and detach some arms as props, then attach them to the proper place if you want to have any hope of moving them correctly. Carolly

Ah, bloodsong, that is where life asserts itself over death: fresh flowers springing from the debris. Mr Beaument - It is lovely, and thank you for the detailed workmanship. Carolly

Marque, Unfortunately, when I see a cat texture on a female, I think she needs 6 nipples. The coloring job looks good, though. Carolly

Cal, Thank you. Really fun, well-built, useful stuff. I laughed when I saw the bundt pan... and immediately wanted some cake. Virtual cake has no calories, right? Carolly

If a prop (such as hair for the most typical example) has transparent areas, the entire material group will often show as dotted lines in the workspace no matter what settings you use. Render it (check your render settings... don't render the display settings). The render window ought to show what it really looks like. Carolly

Several of us from my forum on Compuserve meet ftf each year at Origins (a gaming convention). I have really enjoyed putting voices and facial expressions to the typed messages after meeting a person with whom I've exchanged comments over the years. I've met a few of the DAZ and CuriousLabs folks at the Game Developer's Conference, but nobody else from these forums. That could be remedied! :) I live in the SF Bay Area. Are there any other members around here? I hold artist tea parties occasionally (the next is in 3 weeks), so could be persuaded to host a friendly little gathering. Carolly
