Frankly, I am so discouraged by all the (negative IMHO) changes that I am at a loss for words...... That's a rarity for me. I can only add that I am on board 100% with Dennis.

The daily digest would be an almost acceptable compromise, but - on only the second day of implementation - I have yet to recieve mine.

To echo what Dennins said above, the ebot system worked perfectly for me. I have a crushingly busy schedule, and frankly Rendo is a big part of my relaxation - or at least it was before all these changes. Having to repeatedly check the notifications is a real pain. Then, when I come back to it, half the notifications are gone, so I have to click the "Older Items" button to see them again. It's a real pain in the ### as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know if it matters at all to your administration, but members are beginning to leave in considerable numbers. I have many friends on Rendo that have already called it quits - not neccesarily just because of this recent change, but because Admin seems to be both blind and deaf when it comes to how the community feels. And that's a community that spends a pretty good chunk of change in your marketplace, I might add.

I do not plan on leaving; at least not right now. I am hoping that your Admin will take a good long look at the feedback from your  community (and I say YOUR community in all sincerity), and act upon it - act like your community matters to you.

Some files are better than others, I've discovered, but you can't beat the price! You'll encounter some of them that seem like parts are missing, or in the wrong places - not sure if it's because they're assembled wrong in 3D Studio or what, but you can get some odd (and at times, really funny) effects. I've actually taken some of the "broken" files into Bryce, ungrouped them and fixed the parts that were in the wrong place, re-grouped them, then exported them as 3DS. When imported to Poser, they seem to work fine.

I've picked up a lot of really nice stuff there - and yes one can spend several hours going through all the stuff there! :-P

Yep - Under FILE>IMPORT you'll find 3D Studio along with several other formats. :-) Enjoy!

The files are in 3DS format, but will import into Poser. Some files are better than others, but most of the monitors / TVs work pretty well.

I picked up this NEC monitor there, and it works beautifully. It took me about 5 minutes to create this..

The only thing that was changed are the gamma settings. I did not use IDL.

Clearly there's something else at play here...

If nothing else, it's given me some interesting ideas. :-)

BB, when you refer to the 'gamma of the scene' I'm not  quite sure exactly what you mean. I'm trying to understand all this as I'm fascinated by it. And understanding it can only help to create better art.

In looking over some of my scenes in the mat room, I'm not finding any gamma references anywhere . I did a bit of exploring, and found you can add gamma to a color map through NEW NODE>MATH>GAMMA. Is this what you are referring to?

Still learning this stuff, so just point me in the right direction - no need to rewrite something you've already explained..

I did a bit of playing earlier with the gamma setting in the render setting. I'll post my results just for grins...
