exactly right calyxa. ppi is only a trigger to tell whatever program how to size the image. 300 dpi (or enough pixels to correspond) is an appropriate number of colour points to allow for the use of four offset screens in commercial image printing operations.Â

Welcome back (even if belated!) That is one hell of a real-life intervention - got fingers crossed for you that the ride goes on. Been rather busy myself (to the point that I have render ideas stacked up but very little time to work on them.)
Tintin, very cool.

For the steps, add a slight lip at the top of each tread, this will add a visual break due to the shadow it casts. It will also add a small amount of visual complexity.
In terms of composition, I have two thoughts, one - move the figure off center a bit more (say, to the right) and lower the camera to almost the floor and aim a bit more up past the figure. The second is to raise the camera up above the figure a ways and look down at the upraised pose.
For the waterfall textures, try elongating the vertical component of the mat to give more a sense of the flow.
Just some ideas I had, hope they help - you have a really good idea here IMHO.

Thread: In an artistic funk, what to do about it? | Forum: Bryce
It is always good to try and improve with each work - BUT - that is not the primary goal! The primary is to enjoy the creative process of making your image's statement. What i really want to say, is enjoy the image, don't sweat the need for improvement, it will happen.

Bryce is a small investment that will pay you back fast in terms of satisfaction - especially the free 5.5. Remember you can always get Maya later if you still want.
What do you want to do with it is the question - animation? still image scenes? organic/non-organic modelling. If you are looking for something on which to base a career, Maya, 3DSMax, C4D or XSIÂ may be a better choice. If you are looking for somewhere to get started and have fun doing so, bryce is a good place.

Thread: What's your reason for posting artwork on Renderosity | Forum: Bryce
I post here for the pleasure of sharing my images with others and in appreciation of their sharing with me. I also appreciate the comments and crits that I get as well (yes, good for the ego, I'll admit to that - grin). I also get quite a bit of inspiration from the galleries and forums (here and C4D). Started out with bryce and photopaint many years ago on the compuserve graphics forums and found a home here along the way.
