I just had a similar problem. In your FireFly render settings, try turning on "Remove Backfacing Polys". This solved my problem the last time I had this.

I get something similar occasionally, just not as pronounced as you have here. It's something to do with AO. Just to test, shut AO off on the IBL light and see if you still get them.

JohnRickardJR, This is great, thank you for posting this! I'm going to try this out as soon as my current render is done.
Thread: P6 problem with Preview Render | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What video card do you have and have you made sure you have the latest drivers installed? I'm using a Radeon 9800 Pro with the latest catalyst drivers and the Open GL stuff in P6 has been rock solid for me.

I'm really going to have to agree with this. I too liked being able to watch a render as it was going. The preview window, if you're rendering bigger than the preview window itself, is useless for the comparison feature (which I really like) unless you just want to compare the upper left hand corner of the picture. Oddly enough, I have only had a few "silent hangs", and in all cases I was using a certain prop from Daz. Taking out the prop stopped the render freeze. Sorry I can't remember which one at the moment, but will post when I do remember it. Other than that, P6 has always popped up a box about memory if it fails. So chances are your render is still going, just really really slow.

Thread: Poser 5 to Poser 6 Upgrade Question. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Poser 6 install is totally seperate from your Poser 5 install. I didn't see any affect on my P5 install at all after installing Poser 6. They go into seperate directories, seperate registry entries, etc... The P6 "Upgrade" is really a full install.

Try lowering the max texture size (in the firefly manual settings) to 1024 and see if that fixes your problem. Unless you're doing closeups you hopefully wont see much of a difference visually...

I think I actually used one of the IBL images that was an interior image. I'll have to take a look when I get home. I dont recall it having any red, but will definately check that, thanks for the suggestion!

The lights were all white/grey in this render. I tried putting another white light in front of her face to hopefully cut down on the redness and it did, but only slightly. Someone needs to write a really indepth tut on SSS in P6 :p

Not sure whats up with the orange/red glow. It's not the realskin shader doing it. If I load up jessi, default, and add SSS and render it'll be dark red. I guess I just need to play with the settings a little bit more.

Re: R_Hatch Thanks for the great tip! I'll have to try that out should it ever happen again.
