Thread: Silo for $20. Is it worth it for poser users? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Love to try out Shade (before making any decision) but the trial download link for Windows is broken (Mac link works).

Just in case any Windows users are having issues with this, I ran into this problem:
I purchased the bundle and once I got the registration I went to http://nevercenter.com/silo/ and downloaded the version for Windows.
When I installed, it cried about settings missing in My Documents and the whole interface was dark (it should be medium-grey) and no widgets anywhere.
If this happens, close Silo.
Go to where you installed it and there will be a .zip, SDCopy.zip.
Go to your Users Directory: C:UsersYOURUSERNAMEDocuments and make a new folder called Silo Data.
Unzip SDCopy.zip to that folder.
Restart Silo. All should be good.

Windows 7 should be supported until 2020 so you have time to see what devils pop out of Microsoft's rectum.
I am not against 8.1 just strongly prefer 7. I do like the Metro look but the OS can be skinned, so not a huge biggie for me. I don't give a flying sh-- about Apps.
When I had 8.1 running, I was able to run Poser 7 (just to see if I could). If anything doesn't seem to run, try Windows XP mode, Service Pack 2.

There must be a setting in Avast! to let Poser and AIR communicate properly. Sometimes, that's the issue with all-in-one do-everything security suites. I used Avast! a LONG time ago.
Currently I run MS Security Essentials, have Malwarebytes (free), and I run Panda Online Scanner manually on occasion. I also run Adblock Plus and NoScript in FF and try to carefully select what comes through.

As far as I know, all the marketplaces have a license agreement that forbids appropriating a mesh in any way and forbids redistribution. Now, of course, a merchant or freebie provider could create a purchasable license (or what have you) for use of their models as a resource, which is basically what is happening here :)
There should be some clarification as to which native Poser meshes can be used as resources, if any at all.
BTW, I think the whole Game thing is an excellent idea as a whole :)

The SM Figures cat was added partly based on your feedback :) (which is valued and listened to and weighed in)Â The Smith-Micro figures do need their own spot.
When the categories were being redone for the new store, the idea was to adopt the KISS principle and utilize minimal categories along with a robust cloud search. Over time, the idea isi to expand and tweak the categories as needed.

Product pages allow embedding. Could also be that the artist was inspired by the big writeup DeviantArt did on Sketchfab. ;)

Also if things are getting crowded and you want to directly click in the scene you could take all the trees or whatever is hogging the scene and put them in a Grouping object. From heirarchy window or properties tab, you can hide or show the grouping object as you need and everything inside of it will hide or show.

Cuffs could be hidden into pants using the morphing tool OR using Magnets. Magnets would be the cleaner route.
To add pinstips, you could define new material groups or use a texture map or build striping type nodes in the material room. Since you say the UVs aren't really great for pin-stripes, the last two options aren't going to be optimal. You could re-work the UVs, if you are inclined to do so.
It seems that you'd be more keen on defining new materials directly on the obj, which you can do with a modeler you know well enough, UVMapper or Poser's Grouping Tool. Optimally, you want to use something that can do loop selections or you'll be clicking polygons forever.
