Arghhhhh!!! I hate making and tweaking cr2 files. I grouped the dress, made UV's, and everything is set. I used DAZ's V4 Dev Foundation cr2 as my donor cr2, and it sucks. When I conform the dress, it goes sideways on the x and z axes(rotated around the hip). I tried using AxeSwipe's V4 Tshirt cr2 as a donor, since it has no built in morphs. I edited the cr2 to contain my mesh and materials. When I load character, it appears as a ghost- the mesh is visible, but there is no character or prop. I need help before I just say the hell with making stuff for Poser. If anyone is willing to look at my cr2, send me a site mail. Thanks, -a very frusterated Starkdog

Ok, I grouped the dress using Pegasus- a neat little tool, and UV'd the dress, but now I need to make the cr2 for the hybrid dress. For some reason, I forgot how to chop and edit a cr2 for dynamic groups. Does anyone remember how to do this? I hate brain-farts. -Starkdog

Joe, Thanks for the feedback. I need to figure out a way to make the cloth simulation run faster. It took almost an hour to run a 30 frame simulation as seen above. The dress including the ring, band, and trim is just a little bit above 16k polys!!! I know it is a lot, but it flows so nicely, which is what I want. Most dynamic dresses below 10K polys get blocky in places when gathering or bunching. I want this dress to look stunning, that even my fiancee would want to wear it. I'm working on another simulation to correct the little breakthrough in the trim, and then I'll UV it, and make the prop, etc. This is a lot of work for a little dress!!! Thanks, -Starkdog

Is this why the titles of threads and other headings are in italics? It is like this at DAZ too, and I go blind trying to read massive amounts of italics. How do I change this? -Starkdog

Hey Owl, From what I can see, it appears that the scaling information does not stay within the "new David" cr2 file, hence the shorter bones in the setup room. One thing to check is the scaling and JP data in your cr2. There is a utility (cr2 builder? or something close to it) used to compare and transfer data between cr2 files. I'd do a side by side cr2 comparison. Second, depending on the amount of scaling, I'd build the initial mesh to fit the base David, and then scale the mesh up for the new character, and make it a full body morph. This way, it uses the base David rig and JP's, JCM's, etc, but it can be morphed for your character. Anton and PhilC would probably be of more assistance- look at Apollo's ADS system and PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard and other clothing utilities. I hope this helps. -Starkdog

Thread: Pegasus Modeler at Daz | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Over the past few years I've been here, I bought Shade, Silo, Modo, and Hexagon. All have unique features and abilities. I also bought Pegasus to try it out, after reading about the neat features it does offer. I do most of my work in Hexagon, but I like the way you can create low-poly UV maps, and when you subdivide the mesh, the UVs adjust accordingly. I also like the way I can set materials, UV groups, and mesh groups, without disrupting the mesh. I'm sure that this can be done in Hexagon and other apps too, but isn't as intuitive. I'm a tinkerer by nature and enjoy neat little things, hence my Poser addiction. As for Pegasus, I think that it is a great simple yet powerful modeler for those who cannot afford Hexagon, C4D, Modo, etc. I also recommend it as stepping stone approach to larger and more powerful programs. I hope this helps, -Starkdog
Thread: How to fit Sapphire Fox Hair for V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sorry it took so long, but I found it. I bought it at DAZ on 12/21/06, and the product code is ps_mo246b. Unfortunately, I no longer see it at DAZ. Like I mentioned earlier, try contacting Momcat or Firebirdz. I wish I could help more. As another option, Netherworks has a great hair conversion tool/utility.
