I have experienced exactly the same problem, but never experimented with different render settings. I got rid of it by changing the Atmosphere. This is only a guess, but maybe I used an Atmosphere created in an earlier version of Vue, that is not compatible with Vue 7.4 Inf.

Thanks for that NightVoice. I did the scan and it confirmed what I suspected and others have said. I can only have four GB on this machine. Well at least I know for sure now.   :-(

One positive thing is that I have not had a crash through lack of resources since going to XP Pro. 64 Bit. :-)

I'm limited to 4GB; that is 4 X 1GB. I'd just like to know, why! It must be as somebody else has already said; that it's all my motherboard can cope with.

This is all news to me as I always thought, up until now, that I could place 2GB sticks where the 1GB sticks are.  :-(

Yes; it's when it's the other way round that problems occur. Vue 6 can't open objects saved in Vue 7.  :-)

I don't have any worries about surveillance by software companies; I just restrict access via my firewall.

But I'm really annoyed with the sale of content from within Vue and all those dummy files I got when I installed Vue. I painstakingly deleted them all.

My biggest concern is, not being able to use the software, if for instance e-on were to go broke or something and I'm left with software I can't activate. This would literally cost me thousands of dollars, if I include copy protected content.

I doubt you will get people telling you which ones to avoid and then get into trouble:-(   But I suggest you get the high definition trees for a start, available at Cornucopia 3D.  :-)

Good idea Steven. BTW 600 dpi is completely unnecessary as the human eye can't see much, if any, improvement in detail above 300 dpi.  :-)
