"*ps i am aware there is an error with the right nipple & apllying mat files... I think there is a new UV file out there to correct this problem. If someone knows where it is post it here, then all you'd need to do is repeat all the steps but use the corrected UV instead of the DAZ one!!!"

The uvs download on the Victoria 3 product page was updated with sr1.

Thread: Questions about Vicky 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dragontales,
1 - The upgrade version only checks to see if you've installed a previous version. It does not replace any files.
2 - V3 comes with a "Vicky 3 to Vicky 2" version that will (with the exception of teeth, gums and pubic hair) wear V2 textures "out of the box". On the product page exists a free download to allow you to put V2 UVs on the V3 mesh.
3 - The figure was divided into 3 packages to allow the customer to decide what price point made sense to them, for the features they wanted. The base includes everything for functionality. The morph packs includes the respective morphs for diversity.
4 - I've written a couple tutorials on the technology used in V3. It is hosted on my website [rbtwhiz.com - tutorial quicklinks at the bottom of the page]. Though I'm fighting for time to complete them (especially the one explaining morph injection), what I have completed (to the point it makes sense, not wanting to post something that rapidly jumps between thoughts as I convert my notes) is posted.
5 - My opinion, regardless of what I said, would most likely be viewed as biased... so I'll just say that an enormous amount of development went into creating her.
Jim,
Actually, that is incorrect. There are 50 morphs [see below] in the base package (in addition to the JCMs).

By virtue of the way poser works, only the values of a channel are saved in the pose... and when re-applied without deltas injected, nothing [visible] happens. As you inject the delta (morph) information (delta injection poses do not change the value specified by the pose applied) you see the affect of the applied deltas. -Rob
Thread: V3 Male Morph Pak Not Working | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There are several updates available. In order to use the MalePak as it was intended, you need at least 2 of them... the base update and the head morphs update. Updated: - Victoria 3 Base(http://store.daz3d.com/catalog/product.php?pcode=ps_pe036) - Victoria 3 Head Morph Pak (http://store.daz3d.com/catalog/product.php?pcode=ps_mr017) - Victoria 3 Body Morph Pak (http://store.daz3d.com/catalog/product.php?pcode=ps_mr018) - Victoria 3 UVs (http://store.daz3d.com/catalog/product.php?pcode=ps_pe036) - DialCleaner (http://store.daz3d.com/catalog/product.php?pcode=ps_pe036) -Rob
Thread: Those empty V3 dials | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
SamTherapy, Download DialCleaner again, we've updated it. Version 090 didn't account for a poser anomaly and always performed a conditional evaluation of the hidden flag before it checked for indexes. Version 095 changes the initial conditional evaluation to be of the indexes and thus what will be hidden when running a cr2/pz3 through it. -Rob
Thread: V3 Head Morph Pak SR1 undocumented update? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The morphs are updates to previous versions of the same that accompany the V3 base, part of the expression morphs. They are updated in the V3 base sr1. What they do is correct placement of the geometry for the eyebrows so that UVs in the eyebrows coincide with the UVs in the head for the eyebrow region, in those specific morphs. -Rob
Thread: Probs with Victoria 3 and german MacOS | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
mateo_sancarlos, The Mac version of DialCleaner is around the corner (literally). We are testing for a few issues that came up in the PC version (which we are also fixing). Release, if not later today (I'm pushing hard to get it done), will be early next week... -Rob
Thread: V3 Blank figure | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's purpose? It is intended as a developer tool. It is there for a couple reasons. One being that it doesn't contain any of the channels for injection, and the only morphs that are stored in the cr2 are the JCMs... which are activated remotely and automatically. That being the case, when a pose is saved (even if you mistakenly include morph targets) nothing but the appropriate channels are saved, only the channels that make the pose. Another intent is a stripped (for the most part) cr2 so developers have a version that after loading additional custom morphs (for the purpose of creating injectable add-on characters) that they don't have tons of unnecessary channels to wade through to find the channels they want (manual creation of morph injection poses). -Rob

Thanks guys. I hope you feel that it is informative for you. Like I said, I'm not finished with the write up... it's just a matter of finding the time to convert my notes (from post-it notes and legal pad scribbling) to discernible documentation. -Rob

Thread: ? for DAZ or RBTWHIZ: Mike3 and Joint Controlled Morphs (JCM), | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Will Michael 3 use JCM's? If the joints need them, yes. Victoria 3 does use JCM's... because, though we spent a lot of time changing the grouping and tweaking the joints themselves, the JCM's are needed to correct deformation in the mesh around the joint (or add more deformation in a specific area) to achieve a look we were comfortable with. Will Michael 3 flex when the associated joint is operated? I don't see it as being all that likely because there are cases when, though a joint is operated, you really wouldn't see the muscle flex (or depending on the intensity of the flex, the automation wouldn't be near enough... so you'd have to manually adjust it anyway). There are certainly pros and cons to either side of that argument, be it for or against. I will say, however, that it is quite possible to create a pose that injects the information required for what you want to accomplish. No promises... (not at this stage anyway) As for whether Steph's cr2 begat Vic3's... it'd be kind of neat to go full circle like that, but no. V3's cr2 began as a "BLANK" V2 cr2... but, advancements made in each successive figure are likely to get rolled into the next. ;) -Rob
Thread: Is this possible? (Q for Vicky 3 technical people) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In order for poser to understand what the code does, it must exist in some fashion already.
The use of "readScript" is the result of me being my inquisitive self. As was the case with ERC, I took existing code and gave it a different purpose. ERC (and previously, EMC along with Charles) began as a re-purposing of existing code for full body morphs within a cr2. The code was placed in a specific location to produce a specific result... and not the one intended by it's [poser's] creators.
MAT poses (also mentioned in this thread), something this community has grown to love, is an innovation by Micah Henrie during development of Victoria 2; which came to be... much the same way.
"Geometry Swapping", an innovative approach and re-purposing of previously existing code for poser hands (version 2) to work in other groups... thanks to Anton.
"readScript" isn't any different. The code exists in at least one of poser's native files (it must)... I just adapted it to my purposes. The initial file I was looking at when it occurred to me? "Runtimefiguresdefault.figure"
See, it was originally used to load the default figure for the factory settings of poser. By changing the reference to the cr2, you could change the figure that loaded upon launch. Well, I figured... if "readScript" can tell poser to load a figure from a specific location on startup, certainly I can make it point to a file of my choosing and have it load that instead. So I changed the path to load a prop vice a figure. It loaded. Hmmm... well if that worked, then perhaps I could place it in a cr2 (with the proper formatting) and have it load a pose, or hair, after it loaded the figure. It worked. Okay, interest is peaked now... I bet if I put it in a minimalized pz2 (brackets, version, etc.) I could make it call another pose and apply IT as if I selected IT from the library. I did... and it worked. Ok then... from what I've gathered so far, theoretically I should be able to insert it into just about any poser ascii file (they're all derivative of pz3's anyway) and have it call a plethora of other files. I did. It worked. ;)
And there you have it. A peek into my thought process and how Victoria 3 came to utilize another innovation by a inquisitive individual. And to think, as a kid I used to get in trouble for taking things apart :) (I always put them back together, without extra parts, and they always worked as well as they did before I touched them! I swear it! ;)
