I had no trouble at all importing those BVH files to see what they would do. My system specs are OS 9.2; Poser 4.0.3 with ProPack SR 3; 384 MB RAM; 10 GB HD; iBook PPC G3 500 MHz. I have also upgraded to OS 10.1.3 in another partition, but I never run Poser under OS 10. In fact, the only time I use OS 10 is for Bryce 5.1 (the upgrade is at Corel's web site), because it renders about 3X faster than under OS 9.2.

Just bought the Michael 2 figure today with the included voucher for Stephanie. Had no problems downloading either file but haven't gotten around to installing either one yet - 'cuz I'm downloading all the freebie stuff that I can find from Renderosity to try out on my new purchases! (BTW - Got a calender from Curious Labs with a picture on the back of all the DAZ employees - and they're all smiling - wonder what's coming down the pike next?) Just my $.02US...

Please see my message below stating Doug's verbatim reply. And, the part I'm pleased the most about is that they're making the offer to trade CDs!Thread: Mimic on Macintosh under Virtual PC | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Here's the reply I just received from LIPSinc: "LIPSinc tries to achieve a high standard in both product quality and customer support, and we are very sorry you are having difficulties with our product. We have never made any claims that we support the Macintosh platform in any way. You will be happy to know that we are planning to release a Mac version of Mimic within the month. This should address all of your needs. To obtain a full refund from Journey Ed, simply return Mimic within 30 days of your purchase. If you prefer, LIPSinc would be happy to trade your Windows-only version of Mimic for the Mac version when it is released later this month. Best regards, Doug Perkowski LIPSinc Customer Support" Sometimes it pays to express your opinion

Blender's address is http://www.blender3d.com The free 3D suite program is available on a wide variety of platforms, including Windoze 9x-ME-2K and Mac OS(only version X- no earlier versions). It used to fit nicely on a floppy (under 1.4MB) but now runs about 1.6MB. The interface is like nothing you've ever seen. There was a short tutorial on the web that I saw about a month ago that showed how to convert BVH files so that they're Poser-ready, but I didn't write it down or store it under my bookmarks. If you search for Blender and BVH you'd probably find it.

but if you already have a legal version of Poser 4, I suggest that you do a search using Google or Webcrawler and type in "Free BVH motion" in the search box.

Thread: **NEWSFLASH*** Someone is giving away beta copy of poser 5 on Morpheus. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
One of my students downloaded a copy of Poser 4 from Morpheus on his home computer a couple weeks ago. After he installed the program, it came up with the startup screen for Poser 3.5 (did it ever exist?) and locked up his computer. He restarted the machine only to read a message that his operating system could not be found. I think he learned his lesson.

Richard - the following programs also take up the full Mac screen and cannot be minimized: Vue d'Esprit 4, Bryce 5, Amorphium 1.0, Amorphium Pro, Universe, iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Melody Assistant, MusicShop, and Finale to name a few that I have worked with.
However, I do not find it an inconvenience because in Poser or in any of the other programs mentioned I can always press Command+Tab (the Open Apple or "cloverleaf" key plus the Tab key) to switch back to the Mac OS Finder and run another program from the Apple menu or whatever. This feature has been available on the Mac since OS 7.6.

Personally, I can't believe that the Free Stuff section even exists! Yes, there are many web sites where one or more models or objects or textures or whatever can be downloaded without charge, but the length and breadth of the offerings at this site is absolutely staggering!
I want to take this opportunity to thank every one for his or her contribution(s) and, hopefully some day, will find a way to repay the kindness and generosity you have shown to me and my students.

I will try that batch file as soon as I get back to school tomorrow - TIA, RHaseltine, that just might help me out!
Thread: What are you all working on right now? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
1)Trying to figure out how I can integrate constructs from Bryce and DoGA into Poser and integrate Poser and DoGA into Bryce and write it all down in a lesson plan so my students can do it easily and seamlessly. 2) 0ther than learning how to lip-sync Poser figures so it looks and sounds somewhat real and catching up on reading all the postings here at Renderosity... not much, I guess... 3) Oh, I am working on a Poser tutorial lesson plan for my students, but it's not ready for prime time yet...

Yes, I am using MS Word, not WordPad. As soon as you click on the pasted picture, the Picture toolbar appears. Word has worked like that since version 6.0 (the crop button looks like a slanted diamond with tails). I also use ACDSee and GraphicConverter, but those two programs are lesser known than Word, and both my high school and college students use MS Office as well.

Unquestionably, Nerd's Backdrop toolkit. It is way cool, and I can use my own jpeg landscapes for backgrounds! I bought Dan Wilme's CR2Editor three weeks ago, but haven't had the time to even fire it up to use for the first time, let alone read the how-to manual! I know I bought it for some reason...
