I agree with Bar-Code. For the DIY approach teragen is the best option out there. I used it many times before getting Bryce. Both peices of software will do better then what any Photoshop plug-in I've looked at.
Also if you have P6 the skydome is a great option.
If you've still haven't gotten anything when I get home (say like in 5 hrs) I'll whip you something up in Bryce real quick.
Thread: MIKI: What's the overall feelings towards her now that she's out awhile...and | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Personally I love Miki, she's really the only model that I use anymore. I'd kind of wish she had more material zones for her face (ie left eye, right eye, lips etc) and there is the bending problem, which isn't to bad if you adjust the angles of your shots and the amount of the bend isn't to severe, then again you can also use long sleeve clothes. It just depends on how attached you are to your original concept.
Â
As for the G2 thing, I’m not to familiar with the advanced modeling concepts, but would it be possible to model clothing, props, accessories to a base unisex model and then use injection poses and morphs to create a sex specific one?
Â
So you’d have lets say a shirt and you have a Miki dial, a James dial, a Jesse one etc. For a James fit you’d put a 1 in the James section and viola similar morphing that was done to the unimesh base to make James happens to the shirt thus making it fit James, for Miki put a 1 in the Miki dial etc.
Â
I don’t even know if it would be possible or if possible would it be so complicated to make it unfeasible?
Â
Just a thought. Â Â

Thread: Hands above head - a lesson in anatomy for figure makers. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well since we're debunking the rest of this, ", but I can't bend the last digit on my fingers (the tip) without bending the second" I can do that acctually. But I can also bend my pinkies back (forcing them of course) to touch the back of my palms with out breaking them. I guess someone turned off limits for me.

ok I think it partly may have to do with the shaders that I'm using here is another image that I was able to squeak out before Poser locked up again. (it really doesn't like remote desktoping to it) and I don't see as big of a difference. I'll have to revisit my mods to the hyperreal script to see what I got wrong.
image linked cause it's pretty big
thanks for all the help, it made me feel loved :D

Thread: Miki neck line | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm using the winter lights low that came in the Winter Queen set and there are shader nodes applied, but they are identical from the head and the body. The shader nodes are something that I hacked together using a modded version of hyperreal, but I see this on most renders even with out the nodes. Do you think it's possible that I have an earlier version of the head texture with a later version of a body texture? I had to reload and redownload somethings after a puter crash.

yea I noticed that also, but that's not the issue that I'm having the issue that I see is that the skin texture color it's self is about 1 or 2 shades redder.
I was able to get a screen cap to show what I mean
it almost looks like someone was trying to go for a tan line, but I don't think that was the case.

Thread: SIMS - copyright violation | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's not as much a copyright violation as it is a EULA violation, (which I guess is a type of Copyright violation, with a very small difference). In the Renderosity EULA it says that the textures cannot be used in a form that the texture could be extracted out since Sims bodyshop extracts these files into a flat bitmap, and as Anton shows in the linked discussion the textures would be close enough to be able to be used as a lowres version of the original.
If the Sims kept the texture in a non-extractable form (ie as a part of a propritary file format that was only usable by the Sims) then it would fall into a grey area that's best left to judges and lawyers to agrue.
Compairsons also show that most likely the author is using the promo pics rather then the texture it's self which makes the arguement that it's a violation of the EULA null and void, but a copyright on the promo pic is violated.
Either way it falls into the same catagory as yours, the author is using it in a manner outside of the EULA/Fair Use depending if it's the texture or the promo pic with out the permission of the original author.
I wonder if a simple e-mail to Shahara asking permission first could of avoided a messy situation. I'd be flattered if someone wanted to use a peice of mine as a sim character, but I'd expect to be asked for permission first.

Thread: Face-Off's realism products: which to buy? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd say get any of them and then learn your self some Python Scripting. I got V3HyperReal because it was the best that was out when I got it and if shows examples of how to assign an new image map texture to a material. From that I'm busy constructing 'custom HyperReals' It's amasing how easy FaceOff has made these to be able to be customised. Lots of comments through out so it's like reading a road map.
