She has slight highlights and shadows, plus the base of her skin is actually a patch with varying shades... it's hard to show that with this light set-up... I used Anton's Daylight, setting, which is what soulhuntr was using for his texture comparisons, so at least it would be a standard point to show it from... I'll make another render with friendlier lighting...

I don't really have too much to say, but I did want to make a comment about CL trying to produce more products than just poser... I kind of have a feeling that a lot of people here will think that it's a bad idea... especially since most of the people here use Poser, and would want to see all of CL's resources put into it... Case in point... the company I work for has been around since the 70's... up until recently we pretty much only made clocks... now, in the industry that we're in, the promotional products industry, we were (and still are) known for having top notch customer service, excellent quality merchandise, and great turn around time... so if you needed a clock, and you needed it in a hurry, and you wanted to know it was good, you called us... Well selling clocks will only get you so far... so the company I work for got bought out by another bigger company, and the put people in place that were forward thinking... we started making and selling more stuff... and we've increased our sales by something close to 30 percent I think... just over the course of a year... and that's with people still thinking that we only sell clocks, and not realizing how much other stuff we sell as well... our service and quality haven't suffered at all, because when you start making more money, you can afford to hire more people... So now that I've bored the world with my little story... my point is this... I think CL should try to develop other products... it will allow them to increase their sales, and broaden their appeal... thus allowing them make more money, hire more people, and put more into Poser than would be able to with just one product on the market... That kind of doesn't make sense to me... now first of all... I don't have the Mil Girls, and I probabably won't be getting them any time soon, and I won't be getting the Mil Boys either probably... but especially if they're based on Vicky's mesh too... what's the point? How would they be different from the Mil Girls, other than in default settings... it would've made more sense to me to base them on Michael's mesh, even if by the time they were resized/reshaped, they looked pretty much the same as the Mil Girls, at least that way you could make them look different... I dunno, I'll shuddup.

Heh... I did that for the freestuff I posted (which I still need to find a new home for) I had seen it in other MAT pose file settings, the ":Runtime:Textures:Wherever" thing, so I figured I'd try it to see what happened... no matter what folder I moved it into it found it, so I figured I'd just do that for everything and make it simple for people to put the textures where ever it is that they keep them... I keep most of my texture files on a seperate hard drive, since some of them are quite large...

I like to see eye textures already placed that can be applied with a MAT pose... it saves a step, and if you're only changing the color of the eyes, why bother going into photoshop, opening up your head texture, opening up the eye texture, cutting it out from the eye texture, and pasting it into the head texture... when you can just apply the MAT pose, and get the same thing right inside of poser... besides if you wanted to cut and paste it, you still can, it's less work to cut and paste an eye texture into a head texture than it is to create a MAT pose to apply the eye texture. Now ideally, and without looking at the templates right now, I'm not sure how feasible it is... an eye texture set would have the eyes placed so that one texture could be used for more than one character... for example... I know on the P4 fem, that the eyes are in the upper left part of the template, and for Victoria, they're near the bottom... so why not put the eyes in both places, and create 2 different MAT pose files... one for Victoria, and one for Posette that apply the same eye texture from the same texture file? See what I mean? As far as the width of the post... I've seen weird stuff like this happen before... dunno why... but I think (and I could be wrong), that mesh copy->pasted the meows, and for some reason it's treating it as one REALLY long word, and not breaking it up into more lines... who knows.

I've still got the greyscale .jpg versions of the bump files, and they're not that big... I'll probably just end up lowering the dpi on them... I think I've got them set to something like 200 dpi, which I don't think I really need them to be that high... I don't know how much of a difference it'll make to the look of the texture if I lower it. I'll probably leave the settings for the bump map in the MAT pose settings, and maybe just not load the texture... if you don't have the settings set right the bump maps look really bad... the poor thing looks like she's covered in cement!

Personal preference I suppose... part of the reason I wanted to include a no-make up texture was so that people could make their own, since I know my taste in make up doesn't match the "mainstream" I prefer heavy/extremish make up... I mean... you don't really see that many women walking down the street with RED eyeshadow. ;) I looked at your WIP image, and if I had done it, I would've softened the lips and faded the eyeshadow out further along the edges... but like I said, it's a personal preference.

Magnets are fun... I'm not sure why the ears are different, but quick questions/suggestions for ya... Did you spawn one ear as a morph target, then move the magnet to the opposite side to get the other ear? If you're using two different magnets you may need to go in and set the settings for both manually instead of using the dials... the dials will set things to a certain number of decimal points (I don't know how many exactly) but the display rounds the number off... ie if you're setting is 1.5559, the display will only show 1.556, which can make a difference if you've got more than one setting off by just a little bit, that could be why the two ears don't match... you can also just do one side of the head, then get morph mirror and make the other side with that... http://www.eurus.dti.ne.jp/%7Emasasi/ You can download it there. Okay, so this isn't really related, but I'm curiuos... did anyone else ever use a cardboard box to go sledding on, or were we just ghetto-rats when I was little? We never had a real sled, we used cardboard boxes to go sledding with, but it worked, and it was just as much fun... :)

Okay, here goes... V2 has 2 eyebrow settings and an Upper Eyebrow setting... the upper eyebrows actually sit in front of the face, which is the one that a transmap would be applied to... V2 doesn't come with one, but there are a few free ones out there, do a search here in freestuff for it, that's the one I use... but a lot of textures don't use the upper eyebrows, they have eyebrows painted onto the skin texture which is one of the other eyebrows material settings... I know on my computer the very last eyebrow setting in the list doesn't do anything, so I just leave it set to black with no texture applied to it, but the other eyebrow texture, the one that isn't UpperEyebrows, or the very last one, set it to white (or whatever color you have your SkinHead set to) and apply the head texture.. make sure your highlight and ambient colors are set for the eybrows and SkinHead both the same, or you'll get a weird edge around the eyebrows. The BrowsGone morph pulls the upper eyebrows into the head... this is useful if the skin texture has the eyebrows painted directly onto it, and doesn't use the UpperEyebrows with a transparency map... I know there's a tutorial somewhere that goes over this whole thing, but I can't recall who it's by or where it is... Hope that helped.

I TOTALLY know what you mean about all the lights getting in the way... but I just end up deleting them one by one... it's the only way I know how to do it... it takes a minute, but when I need to move around the new lights I've added, I just delete the ones that are turned off.
