Welcome, Kromekat! I love your textures....you'll find they work wonderfully in Vue! I found Vue so much easier to learn than when I first started in Bryce....Bryce had me staring at the interface in total confusion for weeks...
Thread: Poser to Vue question | Forum: Vue
Well, I can't agree totally with Gebe on her answer number 2. Many Vue users, despite updating to most current update patch at Eon, still have some stability problems. Among other things, there are sometimes conflicts with graphics cards and drivers. I have Bryce 4/5, Poser 4, Terragen, Amapi, and about a dozen other graphics proggies on my big machine, and the only one that gives me problems is Vue. However, I am well aware that NO software is totally 100% stable and reliable, and although in a perfect world we would get perfect products, I have learned to live with the occasional problem I have with Vue. I just make certain I have the latest update, and keep an eye on this and other Vue forums for current info.

The programs work quite well together. Most of the pics in my gallery are a combination of Poser and Vue. I use Poser props as well as the characters. I do tend to import one piece at a time, like first the prop, then character 1, then character 2. But works like a champ.

You may also try keeping Windows Explorer or My Computer open while you're using Vue. Usually, you can get a little thumbnail preview on the left in the window when you single click on the file name. I prefer 3PDO as the thumbnails are larger and easier to see a bit more detail.

I have P3DO installed on my graphics machine; it's like a visual browser, mainly used for Poser. But one cool thing is that it allows you to see thumbnails of all graphics format files. I keep this open when I'm running Vue, and when I'm hunting materials, I look in P3DO first, find the one I want, and then load it in the material editor. I think you can get it in the Marketplace here, if you're interested. (I got a disappearing message too, when I did my vote for this month's challenge. Posted yesterday...it's gone this morning. Oh well!)

Hi Edmund, I'm afraid I don't understand exactly what you mean by "features riched". Could you explain what you are looking for?
Thread: Vue 4, Bryce 5 or WB3? | Forum: Vue
I started in graphics on Bryce 3, and have Bryce 4 and 5, and I have Vue 4 with 4.1 update. There are positives and negatives about both programs. I can't speak to Worldbuilder, as I've never tried it. One big difference I see in Vue and Bryce is the learning curve. It took me months (and finally online voice lessons from a friend) to figure out the interface of Bryce and understand the basics of the program. The learning curve for Vue is almost flat; it is a very easy program to learn the basics with. That said, both of the programs, imvho, offer the ability to do photorealism, abstracts, and all sorts of other stuff. Although I find that I can do more precise modeling in Bryce that is difficult to do in Vue. But Vue doesn't advertise itself as a modeler. Most folks who model and then render in Vue use another program for the modeling. I find the atmosphere in Vue easier to cope with and understand than the atmosphere editor in Bryce, but then Bryce has the Deep Texture Editor which allows for very complex materials and textures. However, the Vue material editor is more simple to understand and use. There are also a great many Bryce resources out on the net, just because it has been around longer. One reason I tend to use Vue more these days, is the Poser import. Rather than import as obj or 3ds into Bryce, then have to apply textures a bit at a time, I can save a figure (or prop) as a Poser file and then import it directly into Poser. Some tweaking may be called for, but it's much much easier. The Vue plant generator is pretty nifty. The one thing that bugs me is that aside from the Vue plants and trees that come with the program, and the few that are offered for free (and most for additional cost) at Eon, there doesn't seem to be interest at Eon in providing more. Most of my vegetation/flowers come from 3rd parties. Bryce's tree generator was a brilliant idea, but I don't think it was ready for prime time. Even with my 1G Athlon, 512 Ram, the plant generator/editor will sometimes hang my machine, and I can get some real strange effects at times, like pieces missing out of the trees. So I probably haven't answered your question...just confused you more. Basically, I use Bryce for some things, Vue for others. I do think Vue can give softer looks to renders, and Bryce can do abstracts extremely well, as well as give a harder edge to renders. Just depends on what you're looking for. Anyway, I use both products, and would really hate to give up either of them.
Thread: Where's Oct Contest Gallery? | Forum: Vue
Yes, Gebe, I read the directions myself on the VUE D'ESPRIT OCTOBER CONTEST page, and understand them. And yes, I did see at the bottom of the page that there is a place to upload the image. I did not confuse any rules of the challenge with the contest myself because I did see the upload area for the image. Since at that page there is no link to a contest gallery, I am assuming that 1. nobody has submitted an entry, and/or 2. entries will not be displayed in a gallery. I also saw that on the Renderosity front page there is nothing about the contest in the "Contest" area.

As I logged on this morning, the marketplace ad banner still advertises Massive Mike and Voluptous Vickie....so that hasn't changed.

Thread: Problem with product - Printemps Hair | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I am thinking some problems may be with the location of the objs in the character library. If you look above, you can see the Printemps character library, with the objs in there. This is exactly how the Printemps product installs. BTW, Clint, Neftis did notify me, thank you much for contacting her.
