Hi
i use Cinema4D, using Lightwave OBJ Export for Poser. there where some bumps in the road at the first stage, however, i meanwhile find it relativly easy, given that CInema can sort and group all objects already, so, there is little to do in Poser after Import.
Cinema is priceworth as i think in comparison to other 3D Modelling programs like Bryce or Lightwave. However, thats probably a religous thing ;)....
Maxon currently provide some good sidegrade options for everyone using an other 3D MOdelling tool...

Thanks IsaoShi :) ... i tried a close up render and it looks that the texture on other objects (Like here the door) is very dizzy as well. I thought i could be a JPG problem so i did the texture in TIF, same problem. I played around with the filtering. No change, changing it to "Fast" or "Quality" makes it worse!
Could it be thats because the Image is 4500*4500 Pixels?

Hi SiaoShi
yes, there is a bump map, however i checked again and the edges there are very clear.
I tried setting the shadows to OFF, no change....
Thanks!

Thread: Help with wall textures, please... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i guess thats what it is, IsaoShi. The Polygon hasnt been remapped in its UV coordinates and therefore stretches the image to a wide map. I guess your way of approaching is probably ok.
If you create a new group, assing a new material set, copy the old shader and paste it to the material and then play with the U/V scale. that might help.

Thread: Help with wall textures, please... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
are you using DAZ or Poser? Is the material applied to the walls you see correctly and the ones above the same shader or is it different? if the material has been designed for Poser and is using a specific U/V tiling ratio, DAZ may not be able to apply it.

Thread: Problems loading an object from Poser to DAZ -> Errors in texture | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Hi mishamcm
thanks for the answer. It loads the texture, yes i used "quotes" around the pathes, so its loading the file, but the material part of the pp2 (or cr2 whatever) would use ie a line like
material Bath Walls
shown as Bath in DAZ. So if i had another material call Bath Sink it would be overwritten and DAZ Applies the material from the Walls to the Sink. Using Quotes there like
material "Bath Walls"
didnt make any difference. I have just a little given up i must say and accept that DAZ Is very limited when it comes to Poser files i assume....

Thread: AO Settings, fractals ...drives me nuts.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thanks all for your replies. Indeed i tried working with AO Materials as well, having found this very complex... i would need to investigate further. Working with nodes on materials, i sometimes find Scenes becoming unrealistic, as some matierials may cast AO shadows and some not, or they dont in the same way. I am not professional enough to say so, but have also found AO Shaders to be more CPU burdening whilst a render? I am not sure.
THanks for your answers.Rance, i will also read through the manual and see what i can get out of it. Below Scene is rendered with some more advance AO settings and found this much better then the one above.karibousboutique, The MaxDistance and Raybias is key, thanks for your hints and tips!

Thread: Poser Pro constantly crashing when grouping bones | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi,
found the problem.. seams to be a bug. When i leave the group Manager open and want to change back to the pose view (which is also what happens when you want to safe it) it crashes.
when i close the group manager before i switch view, it does not crash.
Seams to be bug. Just wanted to let you know.
cheers

Thread: AO Settings, fractals ...drives me nuts.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi IsaoShi,
hm, i played a bit a found an error in the Max Distance. I am using meters as units, so i guess the settings didnt work together. I adopted them to a max distance of 1 and left the Bias settings as are. It looks much better now.
The maxDistance seams to make it working, i assume having it set to high makes poser to include items in the AO which are far away and therefore creates Fractals or dots which shouldnt be there....
Is there any really useful tutorial out there about how to make lighting in Poser?
Some of the setings dont make sense to me and even when playing around witht hem dont make it more obvious what they are for ...
thanks anyway for your comment! much appriciated.

Thread: Import Objects in Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
so i think everyone here was right a little bit. in the end it might had to do with bended borders or whatever. I exported an Object from a libary and took a look, so it seams that all borders where cut. So i did the same and my model looked better. In the end now i have to admit that the way i did the modelling was crap. I have now redone the walls with simple planes and cut the windows, extruded them and cut the edges of.
The result is excellent now, even with the material i applied.
thanks for all your help! Very much appriciated!!!
