Thread: Carrara Monthly Challange Number Three: " Paradise Lost and Found" | Forum: Carrara
ManStan, if it's not too much trouble, please send me a site mail about this issue, so hopefully, I could do something about it. Thank you.

Please explain to me what is going on. Who is giving out these bans, why and for what?
And whom do we need to talk to in order to get this fixed?
This whole situation is getting ridiculous.
But I second Andrew's solution. You have already posted WIP's in that thread, so that requirement is fullfilled. And I see nothing wrong with you submitting your entry by proxy now.
Hopefully, though, we can get this fixed before the challenge is over.

Thread: YAToon 2.0 alpha testing. need testers. | Forum: Carrara
Hi,
Thank you for continuing your work on it! I'd be happy to test it for you and to check English. I cannot do it if it's urgent, but I definitely can do it within a few weeks.
Please send me a site mail here or PM me at Antara on DAZ3D if you have specific testing requests.

I also agree that the colors still need improvement. Especially in contrast reduction.
Right nor the best segment contrast-wise is the header and the buttons on the header. But the whole group is way too bright compared to the rest of the page.
Another good match is right here in the forum: the post body/comment background and the overal page background (3 simlar but yet distinctly different shades of gray). Again this group works well by itself, but it is too contrasting with the site header.

This is a great tutorial! Thank you so much! I was trying IES a log time ago, but did not find a good use for them, because I wasn't using it properly as you've done here. Thank you for the detailed explanation and illustrations.
If possible, please post the links to the sites you show in the video in YouTube description. Not everybody has Facebook :).

The design is slowly getting better and less neurotic, but still doesn't look as coherent as it used to be before the recent changes.
It would be nice if there was more uniformity in the way borders, backgrounds, pannels and buttons looked.
And it would also be nice if the color was used to highlight the most relevant aspects of each page. For example, in the Marketplace the Shopping Cart and Checkout buttons get visually lost in the multitude of simialr bars. Even just separating all the searching and product filtering options into a signle panel would help to separate the Shopping Cart and the Checkout buttons. But whatever method is used, they should be more visible and easier to find on the page.

Another broken feature: The price field in the product no longer displays sale percentage for the items on sale. Not good at all.
Makes the site look less established and less trustworthy. Any respectable store will always list sale percentage.

Please settle on a similar-tone color palette. Either all backgrounds light or all backgrounds dark. Currently there is too much contrast between the blue overall background and the light gray header/panels. It looks terribly busy and disorganized.
Also, there is an excellent thread summarizing all the faults of the recent changes here:

In addition to the 7 excellent points above (I agree with all of them), there is another poor change to the store:
And yes, high contrast light sections on dark background look horrible. This is no longer an inviting site. I want to get out of this flashi nonsense as soon as possible.
So: No more browsing the marketplace. No more reading of news. No more leisurely looks at the galleries and clicking on credited products to check them out.
I used to have my Portfolio here, but if the design doesn't change, I'll be moving it over to other sites, because this is downright embarrassing for anyone who works in any graphics field.
Thread: Low Poly People - a semi-tutorial. | Forum: Carrara
Wow! This is amazing. I am so much looking forward to the detailed explanation of this method! Fantastic job! This would be super helpful to any animation in Carrara. I'm guessing this could be applied to any moving characters, not just people, correct? (Animals, birds, robots, etc...)
Thread: Probably a very stupid question | Forum: Carrara
Negative lights! I'm an idiot! I clean forgot about negative lights. Thank you so much! I will give it a try. I think if I have a strong negative light of the same colors as my positive ones it should cancel the lights out on the shaded part. I'll try to do it tonight or tomorrow night and see what happens. Thank you again.

Unfortunately, that does not help, because the light is not straight on from behind the camera, but rather from the side. (All the shadows from he objects in the light should be leaning towards the dark side, so the light need to come from the side opposite the dark area.)
