"the proof is in the pudding", beautiful job. you made the photo from good one to beautiful one. my hat is off to you. this type of thinking and help is my ideal of how this forum should work. every good photo can become a great photo many times by just a little help as you have demonstrated. anyone seeing something they could do to improve my photos either here or in the gallery, i'm game. just run it by me and have at it.

i agree with Colm, we have very few boundaries for this site. a couple of my pics here are combinations of several pics along with some tweaking in the post shop. without that we wouldn't have new age photography. i've posted dozens of the combined/tweaked photos in my main gallery and consider them still photographic studies that i could post here if i saw in them something i wanted to make a point with.

i don't totally agree that the cropped picture is the better picture. to me, the road makes it real and grounded and it becomes a study in reality, a forensic picture, one that i could take to court and the jury would understand what they are looking at. if you want a fantasy, then what i did with the terrazzo affect is a better picture.

with the advent of the computer and digital pictures, photography will change, not so much because it now can change, but that we now can get closer to our imagination and the ultimate concept of what we originally invisioned the picture should be. already when we go see a movie, we can hardly tell what was actually photographed and what was created in the computer lab. i do believe we heading to a new type of photography, we are rapidly appoaching "Fantography" (my word) which originally may have started as a photo, but after we added, subtracted, multiplied and divided, is something from another world. having said all that, i like the picture Syyd created. it is mostly the original photo and the post work adds greatly to the mood value. it does bring up the question of how pure do we want to keep the bi-monthly photos of the photo contest?

some of my ideas for subject matter are: 1. Things around the house. 2. Things in the yard. 3. Shadows and Patterns. 4. Self Portraits. 5. Family Pet. 6. Something old, something new, something blue in one picture. 7. Family member. 8. Still life. 9. Guess what this is? 10.Improbable Still Life. Rules: 1. Picture must be taken after the start date. 2. Must be original work. 3. Color or Black & White ok. 4. Standard touch-up and rendering.
