"But you know, there is the physical CD in the box for Vue6"
There is now, I did the prerelease though which was really a form of beta IMO.
Thread: Installing a Rendercow for Hyperview, how?? | Forum: Vue
Sounds like you got it working, I gave up after several days of trying. Contacted Tech support who told me I had to uninstall then re-install Vue rather than just getting a rendercow update. after all the installation trouble I had that's just not an option for me. I will do without hypervue rather than risk loosing my content or messing up Vue in some unknown Murphy way. I did learn one thing though, I will never do another pre-release, it's not worth the headaches to me. I will wait till there is a functional physical CD in a box from this point on.

Thread: help can't find my cows :) | Forum: Vue
I agree it's likely a firewall problem I tried creating rules for Norton tonight but the same results. One thing was different though, Vue started launching the hypervue as soon as I hit the edit button where you add the cows? Not sure what happened there but after an hour I had to quit out of frustration.

Thanks everyone, you give credit where it's due so I thank each and everyone who has ever taken the time to answer a question or make a tutorial available for new artists. In the past several years I have learned more here from this community than in any book. This one goes out to you guys as well.
Thread: Vue 6 PLE | Forum: Vue
Hmmm interesting so we should be able to come up with say a script that creates a masterpiece at the push of a button? Perhaps so mathematically but there is far more to a great scene than textures, and how hard or long it took to do. I build ships in bottles and some take months while others take only a few hours, some of the ones I spend less time on look better. Time or pain is no measure of art or artistic talent. Music is a prime example of this. Music programs today can build songs from scratch but they lack feeling, emotion, and artistic feelings. When the machines can emulate these subtle but essential elements then I will agree but we are far from that point IMO.

Imagine the power coming our way if this is a game editor guys! New programs will utilize even more than this and then the results will truly be infinite. I see it a as a great pre-vue of things to come.

To each there own, but no, not just "any kid can create stunning landscapes with it." The function editor gives infinite advanced control over texture, placement bumps ecosystems etc for intermediate and advanced users. IMO, programs don't make good art, artists make good art.

"...to protect your work is like expecting the security guard at the mall to arrest and jail a theif running out of your store..."
LOL ,so true!
On both accounts.
Thread: Another few deterents against right clickers | Forum: Community Center
A rollover will detect the mouse over an image and initiate a pre-programed response, in this case a block message or what have you. But it would still not guard against screen capture programs or the old fashioned print screen.
Thread: Vue 6 PLE | Forum: Vue
You will love 6, my honest advice to you is save up and buy it, if you are a serious artist you will not regret it.

I don't know, serious thieves can always get around these measures no matter how good we think they are. How do we not alienate our fans and still gain publicity? As the world continues to become more interactive and everyone and there mom can post pics, songs, and whatever else may be coming, we will have to get used to the idea of people "saving" our work for later viewing or emailing. I am an artist, I don't steal art I create art and I share it. If you want to share there are individual measure you can do to protect your works but none are foolproof. I never upload full res images here. With HD technology as a preferred commercial media, anyone stealing work for a commercial project really needs good quality images today. By saving work below 72 Dpi we deny them that, anyone developing any commercial work will have a hard time getting anything but a blurry out of focus copy. I really don't care if John Q is using my image as a screen saver exposure is exposure, but like others I do care if someone uses it in say a comercial or homemade movie or flash project without my permission. Im afraid the price we pay to have exposure puts us in this spot light and there is little we can do to stop anyone who is serious about taking our work.
Thread: HDRI questions | Forum: Vue
Yes it is an amazing feature but I agree, some tutorials in creating HDRI image maps are greatly needed IMO.
