Quote - One of the problems I see is that all the unique stuff usually goes into the clearance section here at Renderosity , because of lack of sales and eventually is deleted forever. It's hard to make different looking scenes when all the different props, etc. are deleted.
Exactly right.

Mugatu: SHUT UP! Enough already, Ballstein! Who cares about Derek Zoolander anyway? The man has only one look, for Christ's sake! Blue Steel? Ferrari? Le Tigra? They're the same face! Doesn't anybody notice this? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! I invented the piano key necktie, I invented it! What have you done, Derek? You've done nothing! NOTHIIIING! And I will be a monkey's uncle if I let you ruin this for me, because if you can't get the job done, then I will!
Sean, you're right about the marketplace. And I'll add to the chorus suggesting you take up 3d modeling -- though renderosity advantages the soft-core porn market to the detriment of other uses for poser, I'd rather you stuck around to help tip the balance toward better art and less barbie.

The regular flemish bond pattern (particularly notice the blue bricks) is intentional; the original building has it as a deliberate decorative element. As for repetition of the ordinary bricks, a bit more work on the texture can subdue that.
I like the matmatic script bricks, though 54 nodes seems too many. Can it be adjusted to produce this pattern:

I'm giving some serious thought to the camera and lighting system - I really dislike Posers so it probably won't be anything along those lines, but hopefully I can come up with something usable there.I think what I really need though is a good name for this project, so far I've just been calling it "the app" but I think it's time to give this thing a name. ... Any thoughts?
I really like Anim8or's camera and light system and the scene setup is its very simple to navigate - I'd be happy if it was exactly like anim8or's. www.anim8or.com free dl.
As for a name, call it renderdog.

if you convert your 3ds format maodels, then run them through Detriang (available here on renderosity in Anthony Applyeard's freestuff.)
Check out Vanishing Point's new character Vincent Parker for populating your scenes. There are threads here in Showcase.

12 to 20 models can mean nothing or everything depending on the demand they place on your system. What is the polycount and texture size of the models you're using?
M3 is about 70,000 polys and the textures are not optimal. Same with V3 and V4.

Quote - Remember that members also have the option to turn on ebots to get an email when a new sitemail is sent to them:)
I never get ebots for my product sales or forum replies, or for any other reason. I've always had them checked on. Don't think that not getting a response to a sitemail equals poor service.
All of my product readmes include my email address.
As for an appropriate response time, I've managed to answer the questions I've received from customers the same day. Just lucky I guess.

Anythony,
I've followed these sea patrol photos for years; have you ever put them in sequence online, like a book or storyboard? It would be interesting to navigate all of them in one sitting.

Test anim, 260 frames. The PistonB problem seems to only occur at 180 degrees x rotation; in this longer anim it doesn't seem to hit that point.

Quote - "Also, why doesn't setting Forcelimits on x and y translation of the Piston keep it from wobbling?"
Because it is being constrained on it's x and y translations, but those translations are relative to the centre of origin, and the centre of origin is moving, because it is attached to a moving part. The only thing to do here is to increase the scale, your point at objects must be farther, the farther they are, the less you will notice this.
Ok. I added Piston Target A and B; I'll move those forward. Too bad there isnt a way to constrain it though.
