As for clearing out your paging file, there's probably a better way, but if you change the settings of your paging file, apply it then change the settings back and apply again- that should do it.

Do a clear up of any temp files and files you don't need, then defrag your disk and see if that helps.

I think what sun03rise is saying is that before you can start doesn't the dress need to be not colliding with the figure. Is this true? If so, how do you ensure there are no collisions before you start?

A way round it would be to render to an external window. When you try to close the window it prompts you if you want to save it.

Oh, and if you get a new job before 6 months is up- you can spend the redundancy money on stuff.

Sorry to hear that. You should allow at least 6 months salary in the kitty to keep you going between jobs, so use freestuff and start saving!

This raises a question in my mind. ("Where else do I raise questions?" you ask, "Mind your own business" I reply). When you render a movie, you get a choice at to the quality of JPG you want to save, but I don't remember seeing this option when you save a single render. What determines the quality level of a single render save?

Nope, didn't work. The figure's right shoulder and collar were invisible. I made them visible and applied the same blue texture as the jumper- but the black mark stays. So it's not a hole, looks like the blue texture is not being applied to part of the right shoulder/collar and it comes out black.
