Aye, I am quite isolated from here, as long as you consider isolation having cable internet and only going to my email and to 'Rosity, of course, so I hadn't heard about this disaster. And I certainly am not numb to human peril, but considering that the U.S. has actually killed 1 MILLION PEOPLE IN IRAQ in the last ten years, I really can hardly blink at a natural disaster. And there are hundreds of thousands being mercilessly slaughtered in similar situations all over the world, not just between the U.S. and Iraq by any means. No thread hijacking, death is not a joke, I'm merely pointing a finger at what should be completely avoidable deaths caused by war, and I think that the world would be a better place if people didn't kill each other but instead focused on the needy people, for example, that have been hit by this quake. I hope the best for them, Mother Earth is a cold killer at times, hopefully the worst is past for the people of my native continent.

Oh my freakin Dragon.... Thanks for that link, DDay, I'm simply blown away by Zbrush, AGAIN. Their WIP's even make the Rhino people's work here look amateur, Zbrush is soooo detailed and amazing... I think I'll skip out on Rhino 3 and get Zbrush this spring, give it another chance.

Thanks, DVD. It's the photo-sky (Mayang's) + Brycean sky method. I merely took 5 2d squares, mapped the photo-sky to them, and positioned them in a huge, distant box formation around the scene. This way, the water will pick up skies from each side and the back and top of the scene, as well as the 2D square stretched out in the camera's viewpoint... I'd normally use a half-sphere, but there were few artifacts so I just left it that way... So you set the 2d sky photo to Blend Transparency, and the Brycean sky comes through a bit since it's infinitely behind everything. Turn up the bump to 500 on the 2d photo-sky, and boom, you're in...

Aye, the only problem is you can't animate with postwork the same... If at all. I'm not gonna paint frames all day in After Effects... Then again, at a ten hour render time, nobody's animating anything! (sneaks off to play with Maya for a bit...)

Aye, ZBrush really freaked me out... I couldn't do anything with it, although I recognized it's capabilities... Good luck to you!

Comparing just about any modeler to Lightwave is unfair, but the damn learning curve was very steep for me. So I stick to Rhino for modeling, and Bryce for rendering... Nice alien head thingy! Looks pretty cool...

It's just an optical illusion, I assume because of the angle... The tower is actually symmetrical, only the skeletons aren't. I don't know how I'm gonna do these waves, we'll see...

I think the mech is pretty cool, but the lighting needs some re-direction to bring out some action and details. Also, the foroeground is decidedly blank. Perhaps put some wrecked cars (think 3DStudio) or some rubble?

Awesome model, Kemal... Very precise and clean! I think it's odd that people refer so much to the past when thinking about turntables... I live by Seattle, and people use turntables all the time around here to make "music" for their techno parties. Scratching, mixing, stuff like that...

Aye, it's a nice model! The only thing iffy is the cockpit. It doesn't seem like it sweeps down enough toward the front, i.e., the pilot wouldn't be able to see in front of himself (or herself!) very well? Just something to think about on your next jet...!

Nice image! I'm no sure I like the crotch area, it kinda looks unproportional. Perhaps try a skirt or something next time...? Just an idea, the textures and render quality, and the poses, look really good.

I don't know much about PSP, but I've used UV Mapper many times for my Rhino-to-Brycing. How I would go about transferring the brick texture is : 1. Make the brick texture fully tileable with Tessalation, a filter you can try for free or by for pretty cheap from Flaming Pear (www.flamingpear.com). This step may be unnecessary depening on how big you want your texture map, and how much resolution you need in the final render. I'm suggesting this step mostly for print, you're gonna want to be able to render it 3 or 4 times as big as you would for Renderosity or your screen, and you might as well start big... 2. In PSP (Photoshop for me), select the areas in the UV-map image that you want to transfer the brick to. Save this selection in both images. Then go to the brick texture image and load the selected area, copy, and paste it into your UV-map image. I don't know about PSP, but in PS this will automatically paste the bricks into a new layer. 3. Blend your edges around a bit, to fit with any painting or other textures you'll be using. If you're using layers how I would, your UV map will always remain unchanged until the end, as the inital background layer, so you have plenty of margin for error. Hopefully this helps, again I don't know anything about PSP other than it has an extra "P" when you're using it's initials...!

I think it's looking pretty good! I love the clouds, as well. I think that some dusty atmospherics, or haze in the foreground, or small dust clouds, would really add to the sense of storminess or something. And a few more plants... Other than that, I think it's just fine!
