Thread: Bryce 4 : Radiosity - Ambience - Global Illumination - Glare - How To? | Forum: Bryce
100 lights does increase render time but definitely not to the degree of using Bryce 5 with a setting of True Ambience, Soft Shadows, and 256 rays per pixel, which would be necessary to create this effect. Creating these spotlights didn't take long, like 15 minutes, what took a little longer was thinking out the configuration, probably an hour for everything. Yup, overlapping lights...that is what I'm doing with the next test by experimenting with two semi-spheres of spotlight collectives, one inside the other. And, even these spotlights here have fuzzed edging and plain white light. Not sure what you mean by "white AMBIENT light", ambience is one of the attributes I am trying to fake since Bryce 4 does not have a setting for it, and Bryce 5 takes way too long to portray it. Using haze in Bryce does work, but if I DON'T use it in Bryce...I can have a (slightly)faster render time and more control over the haze/glare in Photoshop instead of being stuck with whatever my final render has. If I were animating in Bryce though...I would do as much "in Bryce effects" as possible. But...if I had a render that had distance in it, I would use the haze in Bryce, since that would show a depth that I cannot truly reproduce in Photoshop. Thanks- AgentSmith

Thread: Syyd Raven's realistic (and free)"Dr. Morpheen"character - Go get it... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The background/smoke is done in Photoshop, around ten passes, then used dodge/burn & blur tools to create little more depth and polish to it, and a slight sharpening of the hands. Just a wonderful "off the shelf/ready to go" texture. AgentSmith

The bottom one is my favorite, texture, angle, and lighting are all very good, makes the render seem more real-world. I like "Lost" also, I'm a sucker for most anything sc-fi and/or "Aliens"! One thing; if you were to change your page with your three pics to have a black background instead of white, it would make darker renders ("Lost") easier to see. Great work. AgentSmith

Thread: the modeling pond | Forum: Bryce
Great model, It would be interesting to see you use it in a final render. I suppose any suggestions I could make might involve the roof. Although you may never show the roof in a final render, this angle does bring to mind what a Roman arena roof might look like. Modeling in Bryce may at first seem difficult, but almost anything can be made in it. I modeled and rendered a pair of "glasses" in Bryce 4 with over 150 parts in it. Trust me, pretty much anything is possible in Bryce. Keep it up! Agent Smith

Actually I just now did what I should have done before I answered your question in the first place... I looked up your gallery and there is truly nothing in there, I now assume your upload did not work the first time. Try again. AgentSmith

Thread: Uploading Into Galleries | Forum: Bryce
After it is uploaded, your picture should be immediately available for viewing. (mine has been anyway) uhm...as far as the search thing goes, I would actually either; 1. Click on the "Art Galleries" link, click on the gallery you uploaded under (Bryce, Poser, etc.) Then, click on the "What's New" and turn pages `til you find yours. (or) 2. Use the search option to look up your own screen name, this seems to work better than looking up the name of the actual pic sometimes. Once you find your specific gallery, I would save that page to your favorites, so you can go to it immediately any time after that. AgentSmith

Looks like the girl should have the same water material applied to her as the ocean, as if she should also be made of water.

Martin Muphy who made the illustration for the Bryce 4 box is a freakin' master at what he does, not many would be able to replicate it. Here's a link to his website and the pic you're talking about. Agent Smith
