Greetings Suziar, I always stress there are 1,000 ways to do any one thing with PShop, this is just my way that works for me. When making a thumbnail, I simply use the crop tool, and specify 150 px by 150 px by 72 dpi. Marquee the area (or the entire image if you like) and when you apply the crop, you now have a 150X150 (or 200X200, your choice) image. When you save the as a JPG file, you can select your compression there, and it tells you on that screen what the file size will be so you can adjust it there before you hit save. At 200X200, you may be saving it at a 2 or 3 to get it to 15k or under. WARNING WARNING WARNING* Make SURE you have saved your entire project image as your PSD file BEFORE you crop! :) If you get in a hurry, and just close the image, or photoshop, it will ask if you want to save changes. "JUST SAY NO" :) I've lost a couple images over the years from not being careful there. LOL Hope this helps. Rich

Thank you SO much for that link. These are fantastic. A lot of great tutorials here as well. I spent over an hour looking through this site, and didn't cover it all. (I like the "Far Side" section.)

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is to make an action. Time consuming the first time out, but the only thing I can think of. Create the first pattern or brush, duplicate the layer, rotate the layer X degrees, duplicate that layer, rotate it X degrees, etc until you complete the 360, then merge the layers that were involved. If you do this once and record it into an action, the next time will be all set up. Any other answer, I would be interested to hear myself. Never to old to learn more. :) ~ Rich

:) After reading my post, I can understand the question. But no, I'm only 41. (with 4 grandkids.)
I have the latest CS version (needed it for class) but got laid off 2 months ago. I'm already missing teaching. I taught Photoshop as well as Graphics and Web design, (HTML thrown in there too) What a fun class! My favorite assignment was when I braught a "National Enquirer" type magazine to class, and told them they had 2 days to create a photo suitable for this magazine. LOL Had some good ones. Alien babies, Skeletons, mermaids, but I think my favorite was a gal that created a very believable image of Brittainy Spears, pregnant, holding hands with William Hung (Of Amerian Idol fame) It was wonderfully done.
I do a lot of fantasy art. I have a photo booth setup that I take to fairs and events, I let people look through a photo album full of people and places, and place them into the photo. Lots of dragons and castles, as well as world travel photos. It's a lot of fun. The grandson image is a sample of what I'm talking about.
I'm getting back into Photography, so you'll probably see me around these halls as well for a while. :) Rich

:) I've been lost in the Rhino forum for almost a year. I don't even recognize names here any more (shame on me) I'll try to get back to visiting more often and see about entering a challenge or two with yall. :) Been using PS for so many years, I forget that it is it's own program. LOL It's become just another graphics tool in my mind. Rich

Creating clothing and such, you are going to need to look into Rhino or 3D Max type programs. Use these to "create" models, and then bring them into poser to use them, but aye, it is not a "beginner" kind of thing. (But do it anyway! :) )

And yet another way... If you already know what background you are going to be using, grab a color that's close to the color of the background image. The resulting fringe wont be as noticable then. (but really, stay with the grey when you can) Also, try playing around with the "extract" filter tool. It does a pretty nice job. Backlighting the subject will also help reduce a bit of fringe too come to think of it. Good luck!

I really hate saying this, but to be fair to yall, I need to back out of this until further notice. I was really looking forward to joing in, but business is picking up, and I won't have time to even think about writing for a few weeks more. I will be back, I love this idea and thread, but I don't want to keep holding ya back. See ya soon, Rich

Just a quick note... I'm back, and gone again. Dallas next week. My deepest apologies for missing my turn without notice. It won't happen again. Back in a week, and ready for a twist or two. :) ~ Rich
