by the way the only reason it took ten minutes was becouse I couldn't figure out where the hair went (it turned out the two meshes were called 'base color' and 'highlites' DOHHH!)otherwise it would have taken less then two minutes.

WOW! I just downloaded and tried grouper what a timesaver! two days ago I did a scene with two figures, clothing, and props, took me over an hour to properly group them. I tried grouper on the same OBJ file and it took 10 minutes and while I still had to load the trans maps and adjust the materials in Bryce what took me over an hour and a half two days ago took me less then half an our tonight. I'm so happy! a program that acualy works, and even better it's free!!!

soulhuntre, I realy think you are misunderstanding the intent of this thread, noone claims that ILM is using poser for high end production work, they are just getting a kick out of the fact that a company which does so much leading edge CG production would utalize poser in any aspect of their production, It is not a "spurious claim" the use was quite spacificly spelled out in the posts. I for one find it interesting that a company with such resources uses at any level a graphics program which I prize for my own creative work.

My opinion don't be afraid of XP, I got the home version when it first came out and it has been rock solid! never once a blue screen of death, I wish I could have said that about 98se. as for privacy issues even if microsoft could decode the system ID (which they say they can't) who cares? does it realy matter weather microsoft knows what video card you have? or how much RAM? the system ID is only to keep people from pirating their software. as for hardware for Brice and Poser, three words RAM,RAM,RAM. I run a 900 T-Bird with 1 gig of SD ram at home and have smoked render times of newer machines at work with less DDR ram

I think you are refering to a library prop? I cant remember a whole room but I've seen several bookshelf props. both here and at other sites. Maybee poserworld would have one.

to get a little more into detail each of those dials refers to a different shaped morph you will see the acual full shape change by setting the dial to 1.0 when you set more then one dial to a different setting you will get a combination of two morphs which may work or may cause something strange to your figure depending how extreme the morphs are. as to the body paramiters they tend to control the overall look of the figure not so much individual features. hope that helps in your quest for knowlege. most of the DAZ figures have a mind numbing aray of paramiters and i havn't experimented with half of them yet. if you think the chest is confusing check out the head. on steph there must be over 20 dials for the mouth and lips alone and that doesn't even count the phenomes.

Do the cloths have transparency maps? if so you have to reaply them in Bryce. Just a thought
