These are all great but like apects of each the foregrounds of the first two, but I like the last one best perhaps cos it obeys the rule of thirds! The DOF works very well also.

Thread: Light Meters VS In Camera Metering | Forum: Photography
No you are just doing the same thing just taking the reading and making the settings manualy instead of relying on the Auto function! We are just lazy Michelle or I am! My film camera Canon A1 works both ways as it has a button I just hold down once I am satisfied with reading I just step back and shoot. I think? lol. But no such facility on my Digital Fuji4700 Finepix zoom unless somebody knows how to do this with this camera?

Yeah some of the better SLR Types probaby have similar metering to the best film cameras for sure, I was referring to my own which does not have the AE lock facility you mentioned Rork as a solution to tricky metering situations an important consideration for me as I like Nature and wildlife photography.

Very good question Michelle, whilst I agree I think there are occasions when a decent light meter is preferable esp with say portrait work with studio lighting,or Macro work. But as Rork points out nothing that cant be gotten around with good technique like using the AE-L. There may be times to get a particular effect when just knowing your film and bracketing can also come to our aid. Dont know what others think but my digital camera is less than satisfactory here?

Wow that is a very cool idea love the revolving effect, I found a couple of things on my browser though its a tad sensitive on the spinning, and the images are a bit too small if you use right click to zoom not all of the image shows up. If you were looking to attract interest for freelance work I would think that maximum quality was the order of the day. I only tried the flash enabled part, which loads fast enough on my Boadband connection so dunno if that helps. Cheers very creative Punkie so yer deserve to succeed.

Yeah what we call a Lady Bird in the UK or Lady Bug to you colonials lol (Sorry) in the morning frost. I have never been able to get one of these sharp or the correct colour! I wonder if it has something to do with my Digital camera which I intend to upgrade a Fuji4700 FinePix zoom this seems to have a problem with reds has anyone else found this? The little green bugs are they aphids / greenfly the staple diet of the lady bug? Anyway nice photo.

He he oh no I assure you I am not dogma my snapz !! I think its great if this subject can be debated sensibly and yeah we do need to think about this very important aspect as we move into the digital age. Hell I want us all to be creative and have no strong views about using digital effects outside of the camera I do it often I just happen to think that there are more than one platform to exhibit this work and can find nothing wrong with the term digital photographic art or whatever rather than call it photography if the effects or whatever are used where it looks like a photographic image then OK. Whenever these effects are used be it with a camera or scanner some very creative images can be produced many scannings as exhibited in Computer Arts Mag for instance are in many ways superior to what can be accomplished in a camera in the first place and the way technolgy progresses these images are making photography as we know it redundant. Perhaps the term photography is no longer applicable to the new digital age and we need to look at what term we use when we think about all of the ways it is now possible to produce images.

Yeah I think this is very good the grain works well as does the monochromatic colour, the figures are well placed the guy pointing looks dressed in Morning suit! The only thing I would nit pick about is the odd spot in the sky and the horizon looks a little higher on the right. Wish I took it!

Amen to that it is intersting to note that some people who appear to have an excellent knowlege of photographic history and yet have no images posted in a gallery perhaps someone who has not the conviction to be honest about thier own gifts! Dogma as a nick you must be joking!! People are entitled to thier own views ! whoever you are!!

Hey I not pissed off at you, just giving my point of view! I dont want to get drawn into nit picking about what is and what is not photography or a camera coming to that. I dont think a phospherous burn is in the least bit photographic either! The fact is that I do understand the priciples of photography and does it matter what you call a camera it is possible to make an image out of cardboard boxes etc etc never heard of fruit or asparagus camera !! Sounds a bit messy to me and I have enough problems with dust and scratches to worry about fruit juice getting on the negatives lol Perhaps you are just as inventive and creative with your arguements as you are about yer art.
