Anything can be art. Anyone can be an artist. The mystery for me is always how does some of the work I see make it so far up the Pyramid of Success? Critics and Agents push. Buckets of Blood? Masturbating in a pile of trash under the museum steps? 100 recipes for Used Yams? A play, a movie, an illlustration can all live a productive existence without being crowned "art". Thank you, Latexluv, biggest laugh of the day.

From the display menu, down at the bottom where it says Preview Drawing, I switched from OpenGL to SreeD and BAM!: Instant Line-up. The background Movie filled the document window. I have no idea if this has any detrimental effects further down the pipeline but it certainly fixes the display issue in Preview. Pheuw!!

Thread: What the heck is wrong with poser and background images? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
OK, Lakeesha. I'm currently chasing down a problem with Poser 6 not lining up the background correctly. I did a search and read through all the related threads on this topic and then posted to this one because it is the most recent. Perhaps I should have started a new thread. You started this thread trying to solve your "pixelation" problem and I can't help you because I don't know what it looks like and I've never had a similar problem. I may have also assumed wrongly that your problem is in Poser 6. I'm happy for you to use whatever work around pleases you. I have a few myself. : ) Whatever gets the job done, right? I do stand by my statement that I, personally, have never had a problem with background images in Poser 3, 4, and Pro Pack. In the meantime, I will continue to chase down this other background mystery in another thread. cheers

All of this texturing squares seems like sooo much work to get around something that should be working as simply as assigning a picture or a movie to be the background. It has worked perfectly for multi-versions and apparently still does if you use Poser 4 render engine. This has got to be a bug. My work around is NOT to change the preview window to fit the background image/movie. Visually distracting yet it does render correctly. Those that use the textured square for backgrounds: Don't you have to parent the square to the camera? Otherwise, your screwed if you change the camera position. No?

I count Bobasaur as one of the lucky ones who got that plug-in to work. And those that did swear by it. Once I upgraded to LW 7 it went from sort of working to not working at all. Currently I use the Greenbriar plug-ins and Lightwave 8.5. While I have the plugs that rig the cr2, the weight map issue is a bit daunting for every piece of new clothes you want to add. Mostly I use LW for characters I've created in LW. The poser work I use the Greenbriar plugs for sets and vehicles in LW and render the people in Poser 6 and then Comp in PS7. Not the perfect arrangement but currently it's what I do. I really do love Lightwave for it's professional interface.

probably tons of names taken only as they are fall-backs when the primary choice isn't available. This explains why I have a 6 in my login instead of a b. Decibel happens to be a popular nickname for sound engineers and people with the initials dB. While after all these years I would like something more creative who wants to juggle half a dozen aliases across multiple forums, trying to remember who I am here and there. you can call me decibel but I have to login deci6el...zzzzz (snore)

Here's an example of the glass filter in Photoshop when I needed some air turbulance. It's fine for a single frame. If you're doing an animation you'll need to go to After Effects or something like it. I would Always recommend using some kind of 2D noise displacement over trying to do this with particles as the time investment for similar results would not be worth it. There are plenty of names that stick in my head as people I "know" here but as for admiring the name for its own sake the first one that comes to mind is: SevenOfEleven There are plenty of other catchy names, I just think of that one first.

Excellent, checked it out. You're right, quite reasonable. Thanks for the example. Sorry for the delayed response, I don't think I recieved a "reply to your message on Renderosity" email so I thought the thread had died. Making textures seamless. Yes, I guess it would be near to impossible without something like that. Thanks again.
