you can also get rid of each one singularly by box selecting (b) two of them at once and then clicking alt M (center). if you want to keep these verticies because you need them, but want them not to be doubles, select one end (last place extrude occured and then click ctrl +(on the numpad) untill you have that area selected once. to show all the verticies outside of object mode click slowerdraw in the buttons panel -->edit buttons-->mesh tab
Thread: Modeling a jug | Forum: Blender
there is a tutorial for making a hole in a box, basicaly the technique is the same except you extrude the hole to make a cylinder, then curve it to meet back with the jug. make another hole in the where the cylinder meets it, and then attach the end of the cylinder to the jug using ctrl m or f . edit the verticies manualy before you do the extrusion of the cylinder to be the handel

Thread: yafray vs. indigo vs. blender internal | Forum: Blender
the only one of thoes that i can realy object to is HDRI. i knew that it was possible to use hdri maps with the blender internal but i have tried it a number of times and none of thoes times was i able to get it working. as i have said it is " harder to make acurite glass", not impossible, infact very possible. i have not yet experimented with nodes other than material nodes but that sounds usefull, does it apply to yafray as well. oh and about Aqsis, is it good? what features does it have. i have never had a chance to try it (the one renderer that i havent tried) and all i know about it is that it sports a renderman interface.

i never actualy saw what the advantage of using yafray was for any program (unless its internal renderer or something was absolutly useless)

to tell you the truth, i (and others) should have realized this feature sooner, there is a dll file in the plugins directory of yafray files named sss.

Thread: Armeture Help Distratly Needed | Forum: Blender
i am fairly sure that the modifier method (using falloff for bone verticy selection method) can work on multiple objects easily and seamlessly. infact, that each segment is its own object might actualy help to create that segmented spider look rather than having the joints bend smothly as would normaly do if the mesh was one object. however like i said, i am still learning (not even doing much of that) about using bones in blender. using bones in animation master was way to easy and thus spoiled me into getting ADD attacks whever attempting to learn bones in any other program.

i still cant, figure out why you are exporting to bryce. i am no expert at armatures but try this select the object you want to apply the armature to. go into object mode go into the editing tab (picture of a box with verticies) then click add modifiers under the modifiers panel. select armature. once you have selected armature type in the name of the armature object you wish to apply (caps matter). i dont think this is the full solution to the problem but it is definitly part of it
Thread: can't rotate in object mode | Forum: Blender
never encountered this particular problem before, but i do have a fix. turn off the button that says "Move Object centers only" this button has 3 squares on it over an arrow and is located in the header of the 3d window next to the pivot options. i dont know why, but this seems to be causing the problem. btw, nice model
Thread: Problems with fluids. | Forum: Blender
try my tutorial. you might have better effects. if not, it is possible that the resolution size could be too high (in domain). the real world size might be too small. the actual size of the domain could be too big. however, my tutorial may not apply to blender 2.42. i have tried fluid effects in blender 2.42 with not as perfect results.
Thread: Blender help with the following tutorials | Forum: Blender
loop cut (just learned this one about a week ago), subdivide, extrude, various other things. i am still getting the hang of blender's modeler. my previous package was animation master and its modeler was quite different, based on a concept of "spline" (beizer curve surface) modeling in which you never realy use anything more than extrude and attach (fill)
