No problem Catherine. Threads like this make me defensive on either side of the same fence. It bothers me when communities turn against one another becaue I simply don't understand the need for it. I probably shouldn't read them.

PS: And Paloth... running over here to gather troops for reinforcements just makes a bad situation worse, and ultimately changes nothing except breed more contempt. Nothing positive gained, ever, period.

I read through that whole thread but didn't find the only point that would have really mattered:
"Are the users having fun with Poser".
Those "participants" in this "discussion" don't seem to have too much fun with their work. The wouldn't need to start a flame anywhere, if they were busy doing things with their "art"-"software".
Especially this "jin choung" guy. I really LOVE guys like him. And what I love most about those guys is their faces when I refuse them to taking part in my art classes. (Non-virtual, face-to-face, sculpting classes).
But my question now is: do I have to make my own hammers and chisels to be an artist?
Do I have to make my own marble to be an artist?

Dead Horse ages ago. It's argument for arguments sake, and nobody's opinion ever gets altered in the end anyway, except for solidifying the position of the poster either for or against. And each and everytime any hope for rational discussion is lost when the "what is art" card is played. And Catherine.... I admire you and your work tremendously but I have to tell you that Lightwave does not have an "art button" built in. If it did then I would use it. I'm surprised that someone of your caliber would even say that.

I love your stuff also Lynn... and wish you the best too. There have been several times that I had considered purchaing animals from your store, but have always wished that there was some bundle pricing options, as piece by piece really adds up, and Murphy says that the one animal that you need is the one that you don't have. Life is kind of (un)funny that way. In any case, I wish you well.

from the language it is clear that  this is the Old Propack4 "Hosting Plugs updated
Meaning you Do everything in poser and Host the scene in LW ,MAX ,C4D etc, to render only

Psssssssssttt... wanna hear a cool secret? Poser 4 propack works in 9.2 already. I tried it about two weeks ago. You have to change the apply method from multiply to normal, and "use poser UV's" in the surface editor, and hit F10. No dynamic hair or procedurals, but if you've got LW and a dust copy of propack in a drawer.... undust it.

I agree with beryld about Anime Studio Pro. Some very good work in the forums with it, and many users there are ex toon boom users. I got the free upgrade from Moho when e-frontier partnered up with it, and I've got to get off my lazy butt and learn to use it. To me it seems to offer everything a beginner in 2d animation could possibly need to get his/her feet wet, and with efrontier now handling sales and distribution it leaves the developer free to improve it. It seems like the logical one to learn. JMO.

Edit and exports to a wide variety of motion, including bvh. You can save poser rigs in bvh also so that joint alignment doesn't have to be set up over and over again.

I was happy with Tiger Direct until I got burned for a lousy $70.00 rebate and had to jump through endless hoops trying to establish proof of my valid claim. I finally gave up, but made a mental note to myself that I would always relay how I was screwed with this transaction any time the opportunity presented itself. It just did.

I have heard alot of negative comments regarding equipment failure and warranty disputes. Advertised delivery as I understand it is usually not met either. Boxx seems to have the best reputation within the upscale studio environment in the forums that I frequent. Pricing is roughly equivelant to Alienware, which is to say not entry level. :)

It's nice to have a Python guy working with Vue. Thanks Mark!  Im going to install it as soon as I know what verion of XStream I'm supposed to use; prerelease, final release, or a release that hasn't been released yet.
