Shee, swearing doesn't make you a bad person. Doing bad thhings makes you a bad person. LP, you took the wind from my sails ;-) I was gonna tell everyone where it came from too... LOL I guess that's why the foreigners aren't as used to seeing it as we are. Bri, over here that is swearing - with the fingers the other way around (ie. fingerprints showing) it's peace. Michael, we must read the same books and web sites ;-) Tibby, they're only 'rude brats' because of the way they use the words, not because of thewords themselves. My kids know they can get away with swearing to an extent, but they also know that's only in private. They have also realised the importance of not using such words in public. Let's face it, when they learn words from their peers (or more commonly, their parents) they're going to use them. I'd rather they knew the boundaries of when to use them and when not to. Thanks to all for your comments. (",)

Nah, come on, be honest..... this is an out-take from Hitchcocks The Birds, innit?!? I bet they were making some noise too.... Our local dump is nicely organised.... you drive your car up a ramp, throw your rubbish into a skip which is then loaded up and probably taken somewhere like this... Of course, we have skips for rubbish, skips for garden waste, skips for metal, somewhere to put electrical goods (so the dump-masters can look them over and flog them for spares), skips for paper waste to be recycled, enclosed skips for the clothes for the Salvation Army.... so at least we get the impression the council takes recycling seriously. Personally I used to like the old tip where we used to dump everything over a wooden fence where the pile of rubbish would be ploughed into land-fill - there was no regulations about people keeping out, and rummaging used to be fun. Not sure if our mothers would have agreed had they known, though ;-) (",)

Is this what's called re-sign-cling? Well spotted, and really impacts with the snowy background. (",)

Take a brolly. And oilskins. And a splashproof camera cover. And those little hand warmers that you scrunch together to make heat for up to 8 hrs. And remember, several layers of thin clothing are better than one thick one. And money for tea-shoppes. And send us some Kendal Mint Cake (Which isn't made in Kendal anymore). Oh, and don't forget your wide angle lenses. (",)

ahem Do you mind not promoting smoking in a public place, please? Actually, I'm a p/t smoker - one of those lucky people who is able to have a tab when and because I WANT one not need one, but I also see the other side of the coin and never smoke around my children. No, I don't use that as an excuse for not quitting, coz I'm not a regular smoker ;-) Personally, the whole 'ban smoking in public places' is far too over the top. Buildings should simply have the option to ban smoking if they want. In Cologne the massive-roofed railway station doesn't allow smoking - but McDonalds did.... and I have to be completely honest, walking through the door you couldn't smell tabs AT ALL, the aircon was that good. If they can do it.... Very effective pic - so much better than posting a box of Lamberts! (",)

Tibby(!), as much as I like Space Raiders those ain't mine..... What I don't understand is why these 'mini-tips' are always about 3/4 mile along the track - I mean, who is dumb enough to carry it that far before dumping it?!? One of the things that REALLY gets my goat (I got her back from earlier) is close to where I live we have a cemetary where they have basically the back end of a truck-sized skip for the rubbish - the dead flowers etc, right at the road side of the cemetary itself. On the other side of the road is a disused railway line. Our Obviously intelligent council DON'T allow anyone to dump rubbish in the cemetary skip, and instead would rather spend MORE money clearing rubbish that has been dumped on the line instead. deleted expletive (",) btw, good pic,imo the sepia toning really works to pull your eyes to the bike frame. What part of the country is this? (Just outta interest?)

At this rate we'll have to give the Bloody Scots' their own sub-forum. Like rabbits, y'know. You don't shoot enough of them they overbreed. At least Hadrian knew what he was doing. (",)

lol - when I saw it I thought it would be a painting on the wall until you explained..... (actually, if I remember, it's given me an idea for a practical joke at work on Monday. Where's my white tape?!?) (",)

Cyn, you is a freek - I thought that very same thing when I saw it and I'm a freek, so you MUST be too..... Tom, excellent image. Love the mixture of the colours, so close and yet distinct and yet mixed with the contrast of the textures. In fact, I have to admit this is one of those pictures that raised my eyebrows when I saw it. hmm. Damn fine. (",)

Damn, I hate to do this but I'm gonna agree with Tibet here.... I like the crop of the second but the colour of the first. How unfair of you to change the picture so much and ask us to decide! Tsk. (",)
Thread: Straight from the Horse's Mouth! | Forum: Photography
When I was a teenager I had 2 thoughts which dominated my everyday life and pi**ed me off BIG TIME. One was what happened if I had an accident and died a virgin? That bugged me. The second (until I was corrupted by my first maiden, of course) was the one that really got my goat. It was that no matter when I thought about having sex, there was probably at least a thousand people in the world doing it. That really got to me. Anyways as a direct opposite to that, I think we can virtually guarantee that NEVER in the history of the WHOLE WORLD has a document ever been created which includes a photo of a humanised horse, a doctored picture of a steak and Rawhide lyrics. It could only happen here, I'm sure........ (",) p.s. The phrase 'got my goat' has a strong link to this thread too. They used to put goats in with racing horses on nights before a race coz it kept them calm for some reason. If someone stole the goat from a competitors stable the horse would have an agitated night and fail to perform well in the race. Hence the phrase.
