Sorry, I'm only on my second cup of coffee and I haven't wriggled all the silliness out of my head yet today. Seriously, thank you... variety is always nice.

I think that some of it probably has to do with the variety of social networking available now, too. Time was when people came here to discuss both their art and there personal going's on; with so many platforms for discussing personal issues, there's naturally going to be less of that going on here. People have more choices, but still only the same number of minutes in the day.

Trolls are a fact of life on the 'net, and it does take a lot of work to keep a rein on them. It's hard to strike a good balance, though, and I commend all the hard workin' folks here for what they accomplish. It's awfully easy to go the other way and create a regimented, all-business-and-no-play site, too. CG Society is like that, for example, and it does what it does well, but Renderosity's niche is being about art AND about being fun, I think.

That said, I think the "fun" part is up to us even more than the mods. They provide the playground, and they do their part to keep the bullies settled down and unpleasant influences out, but we have to keep it alive. 

To my way of thinking, that means posting fun news and personal tidbits here in the community center, posting our own, just-for-fun challenges, asking people how they're doing, and so on. That sort of leadership on our part will encourage other people to join in, and that's what makes this a great place.

Oh, I'm around, just haven't had as much to say, I guess (yes, I know, it's hard to imagine me not talking much...)

Lately I've had my head buried in trying to learn Cinema 4D which consumes a lot of my spare time. I'm reminded of when I was five years old and got to go see the cockpit of a commercial jetliner I was going to be flying on... wow, that's a lot of buttons!

Yay! Good change is good. Stacey, you will surely be missed here, but I'm sure you'll be every bit as great at your new role.

Happy Birthday to your mom, and my best wishes to you. I have always believed that celebrating the lives of our loved ones is the best way to live, even (or perhaps especially) when we're sad that they're gone. I got to be with my mom a bit longer, but I do miss her.

Not sure... the "mbc" part is similar to Bauhaus 93; there are some variants of it named at this Wikipedia page that you might look up. The rounded top on the "b", which is not present on the bottom of the "m" or the ends of the "c" makes me think that the graphic artist may have modified the text or drawn it from scratch for that image, rather than using a font as is. The other text looks like any number of Helvetica variants.

Jabroo has about 13,000 fonts or so that you could look through.

Not quite sure what to say, except welcome back. And here's hoping you get to stay awhile... sounds like a wild ride, that.

I got to have all my kids over for Christmas, which was awesome. Above is me and my fiancee, my kids and their spouses.
