no. 3 with the human figure is very good. Keep working, these type pictures are either on or off. With time to compose it takes lots of practice. I don't get enough. Bill

Well for just "messing around with a camera" you produced some outstanding images. Good enough to use for illustrations in book. High end coffee table type book. Flash is OK, But it is difficult to stop the "overwhelming" of other light sources. thanks for sharing. Bill

Fred Miranda (www.fredmiranda.com) or Berman Graphics (bermangraphics.com)are sources for info. Nikon is at (www.nikonnet.con) and there are groups on Yahoo. Damn nasty problem that Nikon ought to address. Bill

Thread: An answer for Misha's question... Where are today's compelling photographs? | Forum: Photography
The photojournalist probably has to be the most intuitive of all photogrphers. Being able to sense the potential of an image to convey an idea and then to get that image captured is a real challenge. The most admired photojournalists in the past were excellent, both technically and artistically and had the added ability to apply their skills using quick decisions and lots of film. This is an area of photography where constant practice is a necessary part of the job. Many times there are no second chances. I have asked artists about their inspiration and planning to produce a painting. You get an array of answers. There are the metilious ones and those who favor spontanity. Each has their place in the gallery. Bill

You will have to start watching the PBS documentariesin order to jazz up the videos. It is a lot of work, but very much appreciated by the honoree and subsequent generations to follow. One thing we photo nuts can do is scan, catalog and distribute family pictures. With a little text they will be part of the family history. Bill

The foreground lines don't lead the eye to the sphere. I would also try more definition (contrast) in the background area. You are vary defined in the "V" area and that makes my eye move down center. I do like the implied motion of the birds. You are close! Bill

Thank you. Since I know him quite well it was a pleasure to get such a real picture for his family to have.
