Thread: Rotating Challenge...All read, please :D | Forum: Fractals
I think it's a cool idea too. Maybe limit the rotations to 5 or 6 of the most widely used programs though :)
Thread: Question about tutorial : "Fractal Explorer for Beginners" | Forum: Fractals
Excellent advice and exactly what my suggestions would have been Miriah! Tim, just explore and revel in what you find :) The tutorial was more to aid folks in losing their fear of the program and to jump start them into some "click fests" of their own. I love FE and spend hours just happily clicking on options and then unclicking them again. I would guide you in FE v2 if I had it but I haven't graduated FE v1 yet (smiles) Good luck and may you find many hours of fun and relaxtion with that program! Brenda
Thread: Jaqui's Post about Identity Theft and Attacks On Computer Users | Forum: Community Center
On top of having a firewall, anti-virus, spybot etc.. we keep our ports closed and have cookies turned to an "ask me" always situation. We don't ever use a "downloader" nor do we ever auto-install anything. If we do download something from the "net" that is in zip format, we scan it first before extraction. Anything we are unsure of we rename into a text file where possible for analysis or delete it altogether. As for MP3's, the only ones I download are those the artists sanction themselves. Much safer that way. Also, if I get an email from an add or person I do not know (on those accounts I don't have address blocks on) I don't even read it. It goes straight to "delete" then "empty deleted items folder". All scripting, active x etc. is disabled - both in email and in browser.

Thread: Guidelines :) | Forum: Fractals
Thanks Nick and Barbara for toughing it out on a touchy subject so close to everyone's feelings and sensibilities. The "guidlines" feel like just what they are... guidelines and not law; much more inclusive and welcoming :)
Thread: A mighty BIG challenge.. | Forum: Fractals
wow! that is a huge and intersting challenge. The outcome of which will be quite awesome I'm sure. I hope someone gives us monthly reminders on it tho! Very cool idea Satanimus!
Thread: If you SUPPORT the Fractal Gallery Guidelines, post here, please. | Forum: Fractals
ya, me too!! erm, what Rick and Kansas said. Basically I am for guidelines but like Gunsan, I think Andreas has some wise words up there. My idea of fractal focus certainly includes work such as Longriders, and others who combine items... The whole image except for insignificant (sorry, don't mean that in a harsh way) poser figures are fractal. It is clear to see the fractal in the image and that it was the impetus and muse for the image. Nick, Barbara, thank you for letting everyone explore their feelings on this subject so very thoroughly. Lets hope that as each one says their piece they then let it sleep.
